This is old news really, but I just saw a post here about how Glenn Beck is "a communist" (stupid spam thread or something) and it reminded me of how I hate Glenn Beck.  Actually, hate is a strong word, but I don't listen to him anymore and he irritates me.  Here's why...

I liked Debra Medina for governor of Texas in the last governor's race.  She got on Beck's radio program and she related the following to Beck's questions about 911 truthers...
1) She did not claim to be a truther
2) She said she thought there were probably "unanswered questions" about 911 (really a vague statement)
3) She said if she had a truther on her staff she wouldn't fire him/her because she doesn't believe in "thought police".  As long as their beliefs didn't interfere with what she wanted them to do, they could believe whatever they wanted.

Beck went on to vilify her.  Daily as I recall.  Completely dismissed her.  So I guess Glenn Beck, mister "I'm just asking questions", thinks it's ok to question the govt about wanting to kill seniors with the health care law, but NO QUESTIONS ABOUT 911!  Question elected officials affiliation with the communist party, but NO QUESTIONS ABOUT 911!!!  Question the govt about huge conspiracies involving many levels of govt cooperating with each other for the enslavement of the US population, but NO QUESTIONS ABOUT 911!!!  You see what I'm getting at.  Secondly, Debra Medina never even said she was a truther!  Thirdly, Glenn Beck DOESN'T FREAKING LIVE IN TEXAS!  What's he getting involved in the race for anyway?!?!

I think the word "hypocrite" is thrown around a lot.  The attack usually doesn't make any sense, and when it does people are usually being "hypocritical" about something that most of us are guilty of also.  But all that said, I totally think Glenn Beck is a hypocrite.  So I don't listen to him anymore (and I used to LOVE Glenn Beck, got books autographed, went to his things, etc).

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had thoughts on this.

If she can't handle Glenn Beck, she can't handle the governor's office.

Glenn Beck is a political commentator.  This is what he does.   He did this before he interviewed your candidate.  Were you not paying attention then?

Alright, y'all win.  I think I've been very clear in this post, but y'all keep putting words in my mouth and it's just irritating at this point.  I'll try one more time for fun, think of it as parting thoughts- Beck makes a living off of conspiracy when you boil it down.  Medina, who I don't believe even buys in to the 911 conspiracies, got torn down by beck for perceived belief in said conspiracy.  After he tore her down, enter next segment on beck's conspiracies.  Hence, beck = hypocrite.  End of story, Medina's loss is irrelevant, truthers aren't important, it's just beck and HE of all people coming down on people who believe in a conspiracy.

Beyond that, I'm not explaining where I'm coming from anymore.  Or where I came from as the case may be.  I'm tired of all the negative energy, word twisting, and the horrible language I keep seeing on this board.  I was hoping for a board with thoughtful conservative dialog, not a conservative version of DU. See ya.

buh bye.

The only thing I remember about Medina (shows how much of a presence she had) was that all my Ronulan friends were gaga for her. Told me all I needed to know...

I used to listen to him all the time right after 9/11 and love his pieces about 9/11, Vietnam, Reagan, Memorial Day etc.  I don't know what happened to him but something changed because when I try to listen to him now he is like Hannity, just whiney and says the same thing over and over again.  I do love Stu though.

I heard that interview with Medina. She avoided and dodged every question put to her over this LIHOP/MIHOP 9/11 troother bullshit. She might as well have said yes I do believe in it. My Niece saw the plan hit the Pentagon and we have enough family members that are and were pilots to know the difference between a plane and a missile like some of the crackpots claim hit the Pentagon. Also my next oldest brother went to the FAA accident investigation school to learn how to find out what was the cause of an aircraft crash while he was in the Navy. His office was due to move back into the very wing of the Pentagon that was hit on 9/11. Sorry but there was no conspiracy going on.

I've considered this.

I really enjoy Beck's radio show, but I couldn't watch his TV show.  The reason I've come up with for this is that Beck's warnings are so frightening that I couldn't take it in his classroom-type TV format.  His radio show, on the other hand, has some levity which allows me to breathe between the frightening facts.

Certainly, this shows a weak side in me; but 'em's the facts as I comes up with 'em.

Either way, thank God Beck's sharing his insight!
