How is it that people who are supposed to be "employees" of the People end up with payment perks to get to work; while people who actually elect them, pay taxes to support them and policy, and are theoretically supposed to be in "charge" end up with less and less and less in their jobs... that is if they have jobs.

I once worked for a place the let the higher up employees use company cars. In my experience any car you're provided is a cheap POS.
Any government official vehicle I've been close to has always been either a Prius or a Malibu.
