Maybe I misunderstood his intent but that's impossible because he's a professional writer or something.

It was a damned fine speech. 
 But he always gives good speeches, sometimes even great ones.

Yet the fact that we're ***still*** discussing the Bush tax cuts for rich people encapsulates just how far words can go.

Not very far at all, so far.

It was a damned fine speech that called (again) for the end of those tax cuts, for defense budget cuts, for health care cost cuts, and for the defense of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

But he also said he supports Bowles-Simpson, and he said "everything is on the table."

It was a damned fine speech...but I still have a big knot in my stomach.

That speech is one which I actually believed that he meant what he read.

More Spending, CHECK!
More Taxing, CHECK!!
More Government, CHECK!!!

His cuts will optimistically be about $330 billion/year. Which would bring our daily deficit spending down to a mere $4,000,000,000.00 each and everyday. Producing $1,200+billion deficits every year.  For a supposed smart man, he sure don't understands what spending more than you take in means.

The streak continues. Since Rahm went back to the Cook County cesspool, the muslim and the teleprompter have not given a speech with a peanut gallery full of nodding, smiling nitwits in the background. While Rahm was in charge, the peanut gallery was as indispensable as the teleprompter.
