I paid more in taxes this year than General Electric did.

More than likely, so did you.
I just cut a $1024 check to Uncle Sam for my federal tax shortfall.
Both what I paid in and the make-up check were more than a multi-billion in profits international corporation paid in taxes.
Something is wrong.

What are we going to do about it?

:orly:

From Yahoo Finance:

Income Tax Expense 1,050,000,000

That would be over a BILLION dollars more than you paid in taxes, DUmmy. :bird:

12. I paid less than my fair share
I really don't get to upset about taxes considering I receive a heck of a lot more than I pay for in taxes.

You probably want more, too, don't you, deadbeat.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

DUmmies have no concept of taxes and economics.  None.  They equate their own personal 1040EZ returns with those of a multi-national corporation.

You got that right, Ralph.  They have no idea of the dizzying, unimaginable volume and complexity of our tax code.  They like to go on and on about the time in history where we had a 95% upper tax rate.  "We did just fine then!!!!!!!11!!!"   They don't realize that "taxable income" is a completely different animal now than it was then.

The math is too hard.  So, their eyes glaze over and they move on to the next thing.

Hey RC. I want to ask you this:

How many people did you employ?

Did you get a position in the obama cabinet for your thanks for help in getting him elected?

Do you pick your feet?
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Here's a good response from GE about 2010 and taxes:

http://www.gereports.com/setting-the-record-straight-ge-and-taxes/?kmed=ppc
http://www.gereports.com/more-on-ge-and-taxes/

One could never convince the DUmmies of this but they didn't get any money from the government, they still paid significant taxes in 2010 and they were smart enough to use whatever tax advantages were available to them because of their losses with GE Capital.

Not that the DUmmies would know anything about it but that's smart business.

25 years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.  Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.

Excellent, thanks for posting that.  I figured there must be something out there on the internet like that.

This is who so many people don't care if taxes are raised.
They don't pay a dime, yet they get huge refunds.
Instead of being grateful, they have the nerve to say that the rest of us don't pay enough.  :mental:
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
