Army medic Kylie Watson awarded Military Cross

L/Cpl Kylie Watson is believed to be only the fourth woman to receive the Military Cross

A British army medic who put herself in "mortal danger" to treat a wounded Afghan soldier under heavy Taliban fire has been awarded the Military Cross.

L/Cpl Kylie Watson, from Ballymena, Co Antrim, gave medical care in exposed open ground for 20 minutes.

Her citation spoke of her "immense courage" and described her as an "inspiration" to her platoon.

L/Cpl Watson is believed to be only the fourth woman to receive the MC, the third highest award for gallantry.

Trust me on this... it takes guts. Also trust me on this, she will have to explain this to mom... no, war is not healthy or easy... but.... mom will ask what the hell were you thinking?

<------- Almost got to that point. but I managed to dodge it. Would be nice, alas I dodged it.

Piece of trivia... many a medic earns stupidity awards... for doing things like this. It is a sense of duty that is almost impossible to explain. And yes, they are colloquially called that way by many combat vets.

Lance Corporal well done. Just make sure nobody has to play "Last Post" (TAPS for the British) for you. I want you to come home and live a fruitful life after this. I really do.

And yes, women can and do hack it in combat.

Ok I want you people to understand something right now. Not only is know-it-all nadin much smarter and much better-educated than you, she is also much more courageous than you will ever be. And what's more, she admits it.

Oh, and yes
<--------DUmmy nadin reads coach
The thing that really kills her is that this tribute to her own imaginary cool gallantry under fire will be read by maybe one smug OET snot per hour.
Our mocking enjoyment of her pathetic fantasy far exceeds the amount of exposure she's getting among her target audience of moonbat Marxists.

Does anyone else find it odd that know-it-all nadin claims to have been braver than Sergeant York in combat, but was instantly destroyed when a handful of moonbat mental misfit DUmpmonkeys complained about her offensive, condescending style?

DUmmy Nadinbrzhzhzhski's heroic exploits on the battlefield didn't get much press. She managed to dodge all the recognition and decorations, leaving TomInTib to reap the awards that were rightfully hers. She contented herself with sneaking across the border at Tijuana.

Mexico's war with the Klingons was pretty much under the radar anyway.

Most likely the skank would wet her pants at the sound of a back-fire. :banghead:

I don't know about that, but she does sound like the sort of high-maintenance nuisance you run into now and then in troop service who knows everything (With an objective accuracy rate of about 40%), won't STFU, and is constantly gossiping, scheming against rivals, or instigating some sort of unrest among the squaddies and junior NCOs so that they're all actually relieved when something finally does happen, because the nuisance goes into helmet defilade and shuts his/her trap until the coast is clear.  Of course then the pest usually re-emerges and tries to take credit for something that went right while he or she was busy hiding.

Mornin' DAT. :cheersmate:
We called those types...remfs or strap-hangers.
I know you're familiar with them.
Those were the "nice" terms.
I still see her more of a runner, than a hider.

Yeah, Skul, you know what I'm talkin' about.  In my own lifelong military anabasis, I've been around most parts of the Army one time or another, and you can find some losers like her in just about any kind of unit.  You can also find troops with real warrior blood just about everywhere, from Rangers to clerks, so I kind of steer clear of using "Remf" a lot more than I did when I was young and riding around in a tank turret.

Kylie Watson was also surprised she got the medal.  She thought of herself as doing her duty.  That's the heart of a warrior.

The real piece of trivia in Nadin's little fable about "almost" doing this is another interesting tidbit.  She likely would have been in the Mexican Army at the time of her claim.  Which means if she "almost" did this, the people her unit would have been engaged against were insurgents even more communist than the government.

That is unless she lied about having participated in an armed insurrection against her country on he immigration papers.

Would those be the same papers she didn't bother with when she became an "undocumented" American ?

Really? And how many combat vets do you actually know?

I can count this guy as a personal friend.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Fonseca and he and I both have forgotten more about military/combat medicine than you could ever look up on the internet. :loser:

Amen, Doc.  Petty Officer Fonseca = BIG BRASS ONES.

Never, ever, EVER talk shit about the Doc.  And not just because they have your shot records (dating myself, I know.)

I just Googled it.  22 Corpsmen have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Nadin--just shut your ****ing hole.  You DO remind me of what DAT was talking about.  One deployment when I was on the tender, we got back to Guam, and one of the guys in the shop said to the women there, "How's it feel to be ugly again?"  Tasteless and tactless, but some of them most definitely had that attitude that their shit didn't stink when in fact it permeated the whole room.

And yeah, there were guys like that too, just to make sure we're not singling anyone out.

Oh geez, now she was the inspiration for "Courage Under Fire", too? At least TiT had entertaining stories, No-Nads only has condescending lectures.

Ya know ... TiT was a lying liar who always lied but I don't remember him being condescending.  Naidaletters .... she's a lying liar who always lies while being extremely condescending.  Really irritating.  She should pick one.  Either condescending or a liar.  It is too much to try to bear both those responsibilities.
