The green meanies have been harping about the evils of fossil fuels for a long time.
Electric cars have been around for a long time too so why have they not taken over and become the forefront of transportation?
The Scottish have a word for it,
crrrrrap. If these cars were any good, an actually viable alternative, they would have taken over a long time ago.
In a hundred years they haven't.

Almost. I do have to give the modern golf cart its props, it has a rack in the back to hold two golf bags and two beer holders in the front.
Little has changed in more than one hundred years. They have electric lights now, thats about it. Oh, and windows too. About the only noteworthy advancement I see is that the market has expanded without these electric cars themselves improving, now they are also deemed "safe" for the Birkenstock shod bearded tokers of tenured academia on America's campuses, one of the few places they are to be seen these days. What good are they?
Beyond the golf course, the campus or an amusement park I don't see the average modern American motorist saying "Hmmm... that looks like a good idea. I think I'll trade in the Sierra or the Mustang for one of these".
Oh ya, in a past post I pointed out that we are well beyond the fabled "Year Two Thousand", I want my Jetson's sky car dammit!
