I like to believe in the good of people.But you cannot negotiate with terrorists, and that's EXACTLY what the republicans have become. Terrorists. That is exactly what republicans are. If you are a republican, even in name only, you are associating with terrorists. Oppressing the weak is good, because the strong are supposed to oppress the weak. The more power you have, the more virtuous you are. They idolize the wealthy because they are the "fittest" in their minds.You will even find many that admit to this. Morality and ethics are absolutely meaningless to them, because it's all about might makes right.
