US Paid to Rebuild Gaza... now Turning Into Another Warzone
« on: April 08, 2011, 12:17:47 PM »
Something to think about:

The United States is facing a shutdown, so maybe $900 million seems like a drop in the bucket, but even worse it is a drop in a broken bucket. Consider what $900 million could do to rebuild some of our great American cities.

But the money - at least $900 million pledged by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton back in February of 2009 - isn't going to rebuild an American city, or pay for roads or anything else to help Americans.

In February of 2009, Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration pledged $900 million to rebuild Gaza after it parts of the territory were destroyed in the late 2008 conflict between the Israeli army and Palestinian terrorists including Hamas. The money might as well have been dumped in the ocean. Hamas has continued to remain a threat to Israeli freedom, launching strikes from the disputed region ever since. Part of the promise of the money was that Hamas would lay down arms, and work with the Israeli's toward peace. It was a promise not kept. This week Israel retaliated, and tensions appear to be heating up.

With the American shutdown looming, will Clinton return and offer nearly another $1 billion to rebuild Gaza yet again?
