An estimated 700,000 Americans died in the Civil War, one of the bloodiest times in our nation’s history. It’s hard to imagine anything quite measuring up in this day and age — but Jesse Jackson can.
On Thursday’s “Martin Bashir†on MSNBC, Jackson, the founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, said the budget battle on the Republican side represents an effort to make the federal government “dysfunctional.â€
“[T]his really is a Civil War fight,†Jackson said. “This is making the federal government dysfunctional on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. These guys will support three wars. They’ll support tax dodgers. They’ll support the wealthiest Americans getting tax breaks. They want to cut into education and health care. This is an ideological battle.â€
Jackson said those trying to shut down the federal government are doing so to make an “ideological-religious point.â€
“This is a Civil War fight,†he said. “I think Time magazine has it right. This is the 150th anniversary of the 1861 Civil War. Now those are determined to shut the federal government down to make their point — their ideological-religious point.â€

Whenever a republican goes to war all we hear out of jackson's gaping maw is how racist it all is because poverty-stricken minorities join the military in disproportionate numbers (absolute bullshit, not that truth ever plugged jackson's face). Nevermind the fact he never says that when a democrat--even a honky like Clinton--goes to war but here is a president that will withhold paychecks to this supposedly disproportionate minority force.
Why?
Planned Parenthood.
So what's the big deal?
PPFA has made sure that in New York city for every 1,000 live black children born more than 1,600 healthy black children are aborted.
Beyond the fact these are human lives these children would become people earning paychecks, starting businesses, engaging in the economy that builds the black community. They would also be voters. They would be taxpayers. They would count towards the census when it is time to redistrict.
So much potential. So much political power slurping off into the sewers of NYC; Jackson is too short-sighted to make the connection. Ol' Jesse is too busy serving massah Reid to know what really goes on in the fields.
