go to the SPCA to adopt a dog to keep the kids amused for the summer.

Quoting vesta again because this is upsetting me.

Where was this happening? This makes my blood boil. Do you seriously think the SPCA does that? What century do you live in?

It happens all the time Habs, people adopt dogs not thinking of the long term.  And then they end up back at the shelter when people realize that dogs=work and sacrifice.

Puppies definitely need a lot of work. We were prepared for that from our research, but good God....... :banghead:

I had a dog, a Golden Mix once.  Moose.  Dumb as a friggin stump, but a heart of gold.  :-)  I work with our local rescue groups here, and see way too many dogs abandoned because of the work involved.  It is a sad but undeniable truth.

Never in my life have I seen anything like this. Your stories are so weird. Sometimes I think you are imagining them.

I can believe it. You can't imagine the stupidity I run across regarding the so-called care of animals.
