Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters "are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists," but added that the "members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader".
His revelations came even as Idriss Deby Itno, Chad's president, said al-Qaeda had managed to pillage military arsenals in the Libyan rebel zone and acquired arms, "including surface-to-air missiles, which were then smuggled into their sanctuaries".
Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against "the foreign invasion" in Afghanistan, before being "captured in 2002 in Peshwar, in Pakistan". He was later handed over to the US, and then held in Libya before being released in 2008.
US and British government sources said Mr al-Hasidi was a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which killed dozens of Libyan troops in guerrilla attacks around Derna and Benghazi in 1995 and 1996..."

Quite a few people are asking 'Just who the F are these rebels, really?' from right to left and even in the Arab world, and nobody in the Oministration is answering.  Given the number of sources on the ground from journalists to spooks to "Non-boots" military personnel which is at a peak but has been pretty significant for months (A rising tide since interest in Libya was renewed with the Locherbie bomber release), it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out CIA, State, and DOD know perfectly damn' well who the rebels, are and that the Oministration doesn't want to talk about it.

Islamic militants in Yemen (I presume that's Al Qaeda), have seized a weapons' factory there.
And we're helping their comrades in Libya.

Also, San Fransicko could become "Haifa on the Pacific," the homeless would all be set to work on a kibbutz, and the border with Mexico would cease to be an issue.

The Israelis are by and large hard-over classic European Socialists.  Where the Arabs are concerned, it's not the Socialism they have a problem with, it's the "Kill all the Joooos" part.

I've always agreed with moving them to the US. They have around 200 nukes I've read.
Do we really want Arab crazies with Israel's nuclear arsenal?

I used to say the SW Border of the US. A pal of mine says 'Las Vegas'.
But California may be a good idea. It is so far gone by now, maybe that's what it needs.
