Oh my.

The Jordanian primitive HAS to be a mole.

Here's an idea for SSI

OK, I am on SSI and even with what I get, it is far too hard for me to find housing.

A simple solution would be to simply...

Increase the monthly payment by $300, in exchange for not being eligible for Section 8 housing. It would cut bureaucracy, since people on SSI could find housing on the open market and wouldn't have to depend on Section 8, and the program could be cut back somewhat to reflect that (though I would keep Section 8 for the working poor, and not cut it back so much that some members of the working poor can't get housing more immediately).

If this is done, people can more easily find stability, and thus, increasing chances of vocational rehabilitation and getting OFF SSI.

franksolich thinks the Jordanian primitive's a mole because she encourages the idea of primitives getting OFF the disability gravy train.

If that's not a bannable offense, I dunno what is.

No primitive, but no primitive, has EVER suggested that.

2. Not sure where you are or how much you get but an extra $300 wouldn't get you are box here. Average rent is $1100. month for a 1 bedroom, deposit, first and last months rent up front and this is a rural area. If you can do farm work and don't mind living in an old, old firetrap you might find something for around $500. month. I do know of a place that will rent you a room for $135.00 a week, no food prep area though so you would have to eat out.

3. I have been trying to get a housing voucher for ages. What they could do is increase the number of vouchers for privately owned houses and apartments. Our town has competition between seniors and young families for these vouchers and there is a 2+ year waiting list. I finally joined with my grandson (a student) and rented an apartment without a voucher.

No Buick in sight.

You know as well as I do, sir, what the primitives would do with that extra $300 a month.

The exact same thing the fatty cross-eyed Iowa primitive, the "Hawkeye-X" primitive, would do.

Spend it on dope.

I'm not really up to subsidizing bad life-style preferences.

Hell, I work for a living and my rent has gone up $200 in the last five years.  What are you DUmmies going to do with your $300 handout then?

Housing is housing.  My recommendation?  Don't rent the apartment below a fat person.

I smell bullshit.

Rural?  Like Orange County is "rural" compared to Los Angeles?  I can still find apartments in the beach cities for $1200-1300/mo--including one I lived in while I was in the Navy (Hermosa Beach--1 block from the strand).  I did a quick search and saw apartments within spitting distance of Fenway for $1300, the studios were going for $1050.

As coach says, DUmmies lie.  All the time, DUmmies lie.

$300 will buy a nice junk BUICK with all the glass still in it.

This is what I do not understand. If the rent for a one bedroom is $1100 you should move to where it is cheaper when I pay your rent.  I'm not here to make sure you live in some sea side coastal community. That is not a right and you are a greedy leech if you do that.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Point well taken Coach. However, mobile homes is a cost effective way to house the homeless.

That's right. Throughout Appalachia, ever since LBJ eradicated poverty, one of the most coveted types of dwelling has been "government trailers". These are the same trailers hated by moonbats as symbolic of Dubya's indifference to the democrat base after Katrina. The difference is that the people in Appalachia are appreciative. Compared to poor, stupid Beth's little camper, government trailers are palatial.

I call crap. I'm in an excellent school district and a 3 bedroom, garage, basement, newer duplex or condo can be had for 900-1000 a month. We are a suburb on the fringes of rural. There are apartments nearby...clean, good shape, good neighborhood and it's a little over 500 for a 1 bedroom(no farmwork required :whatever:). What a load of horse manure.
I have to say in that type of situation, I would blow off the section 8 and either live with family or rent a room in a more stable area. I roomed for most of my early 20's while I was establishing a career and before I met my ex-husband. It served me well and I did much better then I could have done as a struggling, professionally developing 20-something when I pooled my resources with someone else and rented a place with them rather then on my own. I suspect DUmmies are anti-social and do socially inappropriate things like smoke pot that this is not an option for them.

"Oh, so only the rich deserve to live in a nice area? The poor have to be punished by living in shacks? How dare they want to treat themselves to something nicer!" :sarcasm: [/DU Mode]

How many times have we seen that exact same sentiment expressed whether it's housing, food stamps, unemployment checks, or whatever? DUmmies want to change the term "entitlement" to something else with less of a negative connotation, but it's precisely an entitlement attitude that drives all this crap. "By golly, the World owes me a living, just because I'm alive!"

These are the kind of people who have made it almost impossible for anyone  who needs disability to get it without a 3or4 year wait.

In Kalifornia, you have hit the Holy Grail if you get SSDI. It automatically sets you up with Section 8 housing and food stamps.

SSDI = $900/mo
Section 8 = $1200/mo
Food Stamps = $250/mo

That adds up to $2350/ mo TAX FREE.

A working person would have to gross a little over $40,000/year to be even with the leeches on the DUmp.
