A story about what I saw today...
« on: March 24, 2011, 01:01:31 PM »
I had to go to the city today which is close to a 5 hour drive for me, so I don't go often. When in the city I did everything I needed to do and then remembered I needed to goto the high school I graduated from and get a transcript as I lost mine a while ago.

Now I'm sure you all know the Queen is important to quite a few Canadians and our country in general, most schools have a picture of her in the lobby.

When I walked into the lobby I saw the picture of the Queen like normal and right beside (not even under!) There was a plaque type thing with a picture and quote from.....Obama! The quote was about change (go figure).

I was just a little offended that Obama, a person who's not part of our political system, seems to be more important then her. (Given the size of the image and placement)

Quite something if I must say so...

Gee, now you're beginning to understand how WE feel--a "furr-e-nur" who isn't part of our political system who somehow got elected president.

Compaq, yes, that was quite inappropriate.  As a person who believes in flag etiquette, I know that another national flag should hang just a bit below the American flag, when on American soil.  Our mall flies both at the same level, as they need to kiss up to the Canadians for their shopping dollar.  Portraits should be the same way.  I don't know why they have Obama there at all, as we don't hang up Canadian politicians all over the place.

Well commy, it's nice to see you are proud of your country and outraged that the impostor is given equal billing with HRH.
