I doubt Obama is a warmonger. More like he's someone who doesn't want to be bothered by such nettlesome issues. All he has to do is flip the switch of the war maching to "ON", leave a note about the fact on Boehner's beer fridge as he flies out to watch parades in Brazil.

The subtext I'm getting is that this isn't really Obama's baby (Though of course he will get stuck with the child support for it and rep as it's baby-daddy).  It is instead the pet rock of Hillary and some of his more senior foreign policy types who see an interventionist role for us, righting social injustices in the Third World, and regard this as a test case.  Basically this is an even-more-naive and dangerous version of GWB's concept that everyone in the Dirt World wants a secular Western democracy for Christmas...or Eid-al-Futr, or whatever.

The following is PURE speculation.

This tells me something. Obama has plans for military intervention somewhere else. I can think of only one place that would entice the muslim to intervene...Israel. Obama is going to wait until the palestinians force Israel to attack them again. And he will send the military against an ally....

Statement by the President on Bombing in Jerusalem

I condemn in the strongest possible terms the bombing in Jerusalem today, as well as the rockets and mortars fired from Gaza in recent days. Together with the American people, I offer my deepest condolences for those injured or killed.   There is never any possible justification for terrorism. The United States calls on the groups responsible to end these attacks at once and we underscore that Israel, like all nations, has a right to self-defense.  We also express our deepest condolences for the deaths of Palestinian civilians in Gaza yesterday.  We stress the importance of calm and urge all parties to do everything in their power to prevent further violence and civilian casualties.
