Yet there was a ton of debate and authorization from both the UN and congress before the first shot was fired in Iraq.

2. The United Nations sanctioned the action.

It is perfectly legal.

The UN approved use of force in Iraq as well. They just decided they didn't like when Bush actually did what he said he was going to do.

Maybe I'm finally too cynical to live. It would be nice to be really wrong.

I say, too stupid to live.

lol

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

At least I'll give the OP credit for being consistent.

Consistently WRONG, but at least consistent.

You lurking retards,

The same argument that applied to Bush applies to Obama: he's the ******* commander-in-chief of all armed forces of the United States. His power is plenary. If congress doesn't like it they can cut funding or impeach the president. There is no need for a DoW because a DoW gives select legislative authorities to the president and such powers are not needed for these actions.

However, there is one important distinction between Bush and Obama...

...Bush acted like a man with heavy responsibility.

...your narcissistic shit-bag Obama flipped the switch to "ON" then walked out of the room to watch some parades in Brazil.

Here's another difference:

Bush made the decision crisply and owned it.

Obama waited until he could follow someone else.

Once again, voting "Present."  Gutless turd can't even step up.  He's already figuring out how he can play this in 2012.  Watch how he deflects any criticism over this in the coming months.

What I've noticed the past couple of days is that while the jug-eared muslim has been ducking any responsibility, every time I switch on the TV I see the Hildebeast. I wonder if that's part of the muslim's strategy, or if she's just jumping on the chance to fill the power void.

Meanwhile, I saw the jug-eared Kenyan arriving in South America with Patrick Ewing and a couple of cute little black girls. Not sure why Ewing was there. In drag.

And if Hillary DOES in fact decide to quit as SOS and run in 2012, don't think she isn't going to use this as prima facie evidence as to why, among a myriad of other reasons, why Obumbles shouldn't even get the Dem nomination, let alone get reelected.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Anyone that thinks they've seen the last of Hillary running for POTUS just don't know Hillary.

She's devious and has enough low cunning to find the right opportunity to (metaphorically) stab Obama in the back.

More importantly, so does Bill Clinton.  I think that the civil war within the Dem party is going to be a hoot.  Not sure if the Clintons will be really overt about it, though.  Bill may say one thing publically, . . . but he'll be there with the dagger, to go right for Obama's flank.

In the beginning I would've agreed, but she's been horrible as SOS, I can't imagine her even getting elected. She and the entire Obama Administration have been made fools of on the world stage.

Yes, she is smart and ambitious but she's smart enough and ambitious enough to know that if she primaries Obama regardless of who wins the primary they both lose because the meta-narrative of democrat incompetence will have been set in stone. She would have to have such a groundswell of support  as to steamroll all opposition, even the GOP before the general.

I don't see the moderate dems/indies making the Leia-esque plea that she is the nation's only hope and I don't see the Obama Brigade doing anything other than hurling barbs of racism at ANY would-be primary/GE challenger.

I'm sure Hillary only took this job to build her foreign policy credentials as she waits for 2016. I don't see much change in that except now she's been marginalized for going on 3 years. She made a big push with the Libyan war so she regained a smidgen of independence and public spotlight. Since she's bailing she wins BIG if Obama loses as she can say "See, I told you so!" and subsequently be applauded for having been a good soldier during her tenure while being prescient in her earlier warnings. If Obama wins again (my the long-eared Lord help us) what she does for the subsequent 4 years will be most telling.

Frankly, I think 2016 will be too late for her.  She'll be almost 70 then, and you KNOW someone is going to make age an issue.  Hell, look what they did to McCain on that subject.
