Cowboy Boots
« on: March 15, 2011, 05:28:27 PM »
Well, I just sold my project car, (81 Eagle Kammback) and figured I'd get myself a pair of work boots
I've got several pair already, a dressy pair that I'm wearing now, and that I wear with suits, and a pair of steel toe boots I bought thinking I was a size 11 (the sneakers I was wearing when I bought them were 11)

They cost me just over 100 with shipping, but I think they are gonna be well worth it, I need a badass pair of boots, I got these in black

I stand atop a spiral stair
An oracle confronts me there
He leads me on light years away
Through astral nights, galactic days
I see the works of gifted hands
That grace this strange and wondrous land
I see the hand of man arise
With hungry mind and open eyes

Are they still made in Missouri or have they gone overseas too?

I think Tony Lama is now 'hecho en Mexico' but I won't swear to it.

Last pair of Noconas I owned would bleed leather dye all over my socks.  Nice looking on the rack, but after you got em home, they got nasty in a hurry.

You just described a whole bunch of women that get picked up in bars.

I personally have no experience with that but it's what I've heard ....

I've never seen lace up boots like that before

They became a fad a few years ago, though White's has been making a "lace up packer" for years (http://www.whitesboots.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=453).  We figured out pretty quicker that if you came off and your foot caught in a stirrup, you weren't going to be in very good shape when the wreck was over.  That boot wasn't going to come off.  But, they are comfortable.

Although the lace-ups aren't going to help, that is why a bronc rider always uses talcum powder in their boots........

HOLY EFF! THEY ARE EXPENSIVE

Yeah.  Those boots will last for 20 or 30 years, though.  The logging styles are popular with, well, loggers.  The lightweight work boots last forever, too.

Mine were just a little more than a 1/4 of that price.
