Just watched the first episode of The Walking Dead
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:37:34 AM »
never saw it on TV. Bought the first season when it came out.
Episode one is...wow.

interesting that the show assumes we know all about zombies and jumps right into the story. That saves a lot of time right there. The cast is another wow. Acting and characterization is awesome. The father and son hiding from his zombie wife...and he still can't kill her...plots/sub plots the first episode is great.

And running into a zombie horde on horseback...yeah! Pure zombie goodness right there!
I hope the rest is up to par.

Anyhow I woke up at 2:30 AM because of this. Shows that really impact me will keep me awake like this sometimes. Its not a nightmare, I just keep thinking...what would I do?

My plan always seems to start with the rescue of a couple of supermodels, and then we head off for the Colorado mountains. Basic necessities right there.

Almost bought the first season on DVD today. Where does it take place? I read somewhere in the South? GA?

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Its starts in a rural area west of Atlanta. The zombie horde was IN Atlanta.
That scene was spectacular. The Deputy was riding a horse in the city, turns a corner and there are THOUSANDS of zombie, who all turn and chase him.
Based on just the first episode, its a great series. I'm still in awe.

I saw that today on Netflix and wondered about it, I think I will watch now.  Thanks!

That's just like being marooned on Gilligan's Island, with the same conundrum. Damn! Which one?

The glamorous movie star redhead or the uber sexy girl next door brunette? Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!  :banghead:

O.K., one of each, please!  :-)

I love the show.  I have to wonder at the idiocy of these people camping so close to a major city.  CDC or not, you couldn't catch me within 100 miles of any major city in the eventual zombie apocalypse!  So stupid!!!!!!! :mental:
