National Poll Shows Support for Wisconsin Governor

TAMPA, Fla., March 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Free Enterprise Nation (FEN) today released the results of a national poll that shows strong support for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker among Independent voters.  The poll of voters outside of Wisconsin, taken from March 3rd to March 9th, included 500 Democrat, 500 Republican and 500 Independent voters.

FEN spokesman, Jim MacDougald stated that "This poll contradicts some of the other polls we've seen.  According to our poll, 95% of Republicans agree with the Governor, and 92% of Democrats agree with the union.  There is not much of a surprise there.  But 66% of Independent voters agree with the Governor, and this group is what swings most elections."

The support for the Governor's position was even stronger when the question specifically addressed his plan to require teachers to pay 5.8% of their salary toward their pension and 12.6% of their health insurance costs, with 71% of all respondents saying that measure was fair.

When asked if it is good public policy to allow public sector workers to retire at age 55 or earlier, 61% of all voters said "no", and they were evenly divided when asked if public sector employees should be allowed to unionize with 48% against, 48% for, and 4% undecided.

Ha! There goes that pesky truth popping up again.
I saw a piece on YahooSnooze today which was peddling the exact opposite tripe, that Governor Walker had shot his toe off and the union fiasco would prove to be his downfall, recalls for Republican Senators, etc. blah blah blah.

I think that is ultimately why the NFL players union decertified today They don't want to remain on stage when they know a barrage of tomatoes is coming their way from the audience. Sticking their heads in the sand.

The unions are ebbing and there will be no Glorious Revolucion that the leftists are drooling for.  :lmao:

Public employee unions have gotten to much power. They cost taxpayers billions, and in most cases the workers have no incentive to work hard. There are choices in life, and some are not easy. If you want to work 9-5 and do what is required of you and make money, fine. If you want to work less and not do your job, you have a risk of being fired. If you go above and beyond, then you probably deserve more money. But these public sector workers get paid no matter which one of these three options they take.

A majority of people nationwide and in AZ agreed that Jan Brewer was right, yet Obama sued her to stop her.
So this poll is irrelevant as far as the Obama administration is concerned so I won't be shocked if they sue Scott Walker just like they did in AZ.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I would not be surprised if that happened. Also, other states passed similar laws in Wisconsin.

So what do all of you think will happen in WI?

Will the bill that passed stay?  or will it be thrown out?

Will the union be busted up and is this going to domino across America?

What are your pure thoughts on this situation?

Personally I think it will stand and domino.  But time will tell.

I hope others answer also because I am not up to snuff on what really is happening.  I am just hearing people talk from both sides.  Keep hearing from the lib side that people don't realize how this is going to effect EVERYONE if their union loses it's collective bargaining rights.  I still have not had anyone tell me what that means.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

With the economy in the toilet and decent jobs being so scarce the unions aren't doing themselves any favors behaving as they have been in Wisconsin.

It's tough all over, people are making do with less. Millions are unemployed or have lost their jobs due to the economy and have had to settle with being underemployed. Everyone is making sacrifices to cope. Everyone, it seems, but these ungrateful, greedy and whiny union members.

Those who are union members are only 11.9% of the workforce, roughly one in ten of the entire population.

The other 88% are certainly taking note of the behavior on display in Madison and while not given to taking to the streets like their union counterparts they will definitely make their voices heard at the polls. They did in 2010, in part sending Governor Walker to the big desk in Madison and they will reassert their views in 2012 in the face of all of this maniacal spending. They more these union jerks keep screaming the more they virtually guarantee their continued downfall. They are doing it to themselves and I am loving every minute of it.  :hyper:
