So, last year I had breakfast with former Reagan Adm. official George E. Lowe and he described to me how the implementation of the Bush Administration torture policy probably went down.

As it turns out, Lowe's call was highly accurate and about an hour ago George Lowe called to tell me that a memo, part of the process which had probably set the whole Bush Administration torture regime in motion, is publicly available. How about that.
Ray McGovern has pointed the way to an NSC action memo, signed by George W. Bush himself, which initiated the process under which an entire torture regime, which used methods that violate not only the Geneva Conventions but also US anti-torture laws signed by Bill Cinton, came to be.

If you read the memo it says that the NSC determined that Al-Qaeda wasn't subject to the Geneva conventions being not attached to a "state" of any kind.

It shows the US determined them to be "unlawful combatants".
It states furthermore,
"Treat detainees humanely and, to the extent
appropriate and consistent with military necessity, in a manner consistent with Geneva Conventions".

DUmmies are saying that this is the "loophole" that Bush used to allow torture. So DUmmies believe that "Determining them to be unlawful combatants" and "treating them consistently with Geneva Conventions consistent  with Military Necessity" translates to torture!

I figger this is what the Moonbats see: Military Necessity = Torture.

Can someone here show me anyone that was convicted of torturing the detainees? Yes, I know some were convicted of "Abuse" not "Torture" Anyone?

Hey DUmmies...these people aren't captured for violating U.S. law...they don't have to be mirandized like some shoplifter and they don't ahve to have due process.

They are enemy combatants being detained to keep them off of the battlefield and being vigorously interrogated for information that will lead to capturing and detaining more of their brethren to keep THEM off of the battlefield...and preventing them from killing American soldiers.

These people you weep for would as soon kill you as look at you.

They don't care how much you Lewinsky them and "champion" their cause.  Given the chance and about 10 seconds they'd slit our throat like your name was Nick Berg.

And then walk away thanking you for your support as you bleed out on the ground.

My family cringes when I get on my soap box!   :lmao:  Thankfully, they're conservatives as well and understand/share my frustration!

I read this last night and that was the only interpretation of the memo I got..a statement regarding the status of enemy combatants.
One thread stated that the memo had been out for a couple of years at least.

Bottom line is as Frank always says...primitives always lie.

He was a attendee of Rep Conyars basement hearing a few years ago and embarrassed the thing beyond belief with his nutty anti semitic viewpoints.

There is nothing in that memo remotely suggesting anything and that they are still harping on it and befuddled why no one is paying attention proves what a complete bunch of imbeciles they are.

It is hilarious to watch them twist and contort,all red faced,screaming for relevance. :rotf:
