It found 76 per cent of boomers made sure the filter was clean, as did 69 per cent of Gen X respondents, but only 45 per cent of Gen Y stirred themselves to empty out the filter.

I did laundry yesterday at my apartment's laundro mat laundry mat laundry facilities last night and pulled a freakin' comforter out of the lint trap.  Lazy bastards. :mad:

At least nobody tried to drive a Buick Skylark into the building while I was there.

I always emptied mines. Also, if you don't remove it, your clothing will be still wet.

I don't know if it was the army or high school shop class or a combo of both, but I always check the trap before and after a load.

Not only check the lint filter, but clean the hose between the outside and the dryer on a regular (every few months) basis.

This is probably one of my BIGGEST household pet peeve's.  CLEAN THE FREAKING LINT SCREEN!!!!!  It's not hard to take it out, pull all the lint out, put it in the garbage and continue with your laundry.  My gosh.  My husband offers to help with the laundry if I am occupied with another chore.  I'll go get the load out of the dryer and the lint screen is twice as full as usual... and I go crazy.

Of all the public-laundry irks that bother me the most, it's having to grab a handful of somebody else's lint.  Nasty.

I would love to have a washer/dryer in here but I don't have hookups.  Maybe I should ask them since they want to raise my rent again this year.

I don't remember if you were here, but about a year ago, Frau Greenbriar was doing laundry in the barrio because her super expensive middle-class washing machine was on the fritz or something, and she claimed a car had driven into the building she was DOING HER LAUNDRY IN at the time.  How lucky we all are that she was not injured.  Obviously a hit job from one of The Bobbo's cronies... it was a Buick after all.

Actually in some places you can buy shirts made from hemp and they last 100 years or so.      On going controversy on why we cannot grow Hemp in America.   As far as smoking the stuff, may as well smoke catnip or dried parsley.

Farmers in my area want to grow hemp as for some reason it improves the soil, and the uses are quite amazing, boots made of hemp last and wear better then Moose hide.     Farming Expos are one way to see how this plant is can be turned into material that is as soft as silk to make clothing and upholster furniture that wears better then horse hide.

Cotton industry and the  Chemicals Company's are scared to death of loss of money if hemp is allowed to be processed.  What will happen to the cardboard industry and the loggers that find less need for wood pulp.???
