Democrats to End Union Standoff
By KRIS MAHER And AMY MERRICK

Playing a game of political chicken, Democratic senators who fled Wisconsin to stymie restrictions on public-employee unions said Sunday they planned to come back from exile soon, betting that even though their return will allow the bill to pass, the curbs are so unpopular they'll taint the state's Republican governor and legislators.

Are the Democrats going to finally act like the parent's who have to make tough choices?

It's either layoff 10-12K employees or have these public employees contribute to their own benefits and pensions.  I wonder which one sounds better....

They better be back by 7am tomorrow morning.

When people actually start getting laid off, the sword starts cutting the other way.  I understand the effective date of the layoffs is generally next month, I expect they will try to draw this out a bit yet and grandstand some more before they come back and actually start doing their jobs.
