These situations can be stressful for current children whose parents still follow their laws and traditions. On one hand I understand that they want to practice their religion, wear traditional clothing and keep keep some traditions...however, on the flip side, this is America and we have a different way of life. We don't do prearranged marriages, that I know of. (The Amish?), or any jihad, sharia laws...
How they raise their family is their business, but when they became citizens, their laws and traditions should not over rule the laws of their adoptive country.
I think alot of people don't take into consideration, that they will have to leave some of their more restrictive laws at the home of their mother country.
A good example would be my parents demanding national health, when they came here. Well America doesn't have national health, so tough shit.
It must be rough on police, in certain situations i am sure
