Is meth a right wing drug?
 I know cannabis is now used across the political spectrum but didn't it used to be a left wing thing in the 60's?

I was looking at a map which shows counties with lots of meth busts and i noticed that they are also heavily republican areas. Certain areas of Alaska also come to mind.


I was just wondering if meth was more of a right wing drug. As in right wing mindsets will appreciate meth more than a lefty. As with crack or powder cocaine snorted or smoked meth is a drug that makes people feel "on top of the world" and full of aggressive energy seems to me to be more of a lure for right wing types.

on the other hand MDMA (ecstacy) which promises feelings of empathy and love seems to be more like something those of us on the left would like.

What do you all think?

Are righties attracted to meth and cocaine, or does doing these drugs make one more of an individualistic asshole?

I really don't care if people spend their time hunting toads just to lick their back, smoke banana peels, eat strange mushrooms or smoke a freaking weed from the back yard.

 The only so called manufactured substance I have ever used was booze, and I by coincidence watched a Wild Kingdom  show about elephants traveling a hundred miles to get to some fruit tree that when the fruit fell it fermented and the elephants got shit kicking drunk as a sailor.

Coke and herion are strange drugs as is PCP and LSD.     Lord only knows what harm they have caused.   Didn't China at one time go to war over the outsiders addicting their people to Opium? Boxer Rebellion or some sort.

Humans are not the only species to want a turn on, Darn my 25 pound cats will kill for a bit of catnip, in humans it is a tonic to ease stomach problems and induce sleep.

Could be because in heavily Democratic areas, no one can be bothered to bust the meth labs.

I personally have never inhaled, ingested or mainlined any illegal drug.  Ever.  While I certainly don't believe everyone who ever did drugs should go to prison, I would like to think the president would have not done hard drugs and then boasted about it in one of two autobiographies.  But that's Obama for you, so modest. ::)

I've known a few meth addicts in my life.  Living where I do, and in the state I live in, it happens.  
  
I only know of two who vote conservatively.  They both happen to be former meth addicts, and also born-again Christians.  
The rest of them fall in the moocher category, or 'D' column.        

One of them happens to be one of my closest and dearest friends.  After listening to his former struggles with drugs and depravity, I pretty much had any remainder of a libertarian streak I had left in me wiped out.

As a right-winger, I've never touched any drug.  Except caffeine and any prescribed medication that I needed at any given time.  

Caffeine is definitely a right-wing drug though.  I've had caffeine in my hand at every single Tea Party, except when I was pregnant.

There's something about looking 40 years older than my actual age and having no teeth that really turns me away from meth.

I think that's what they were attempting.  At any rate, I think this is the stupidest post I've read so far this year, and that says alot.  Good find, Rev. 

I think Madinmaryland wants a study commissioned to explore the matter and provide statistics.  Must be stimulus funds for that, kind of like the African dick-washing school, and studying the effects of pot together with malt liquor.

At first I just took this thread as some crazed pinko making a stupid and obviously untrue accusation.  Yeah, I can see all the conservative small business owners in the country sneaking off to the bathroom to hit the crack pipe before their meetings, and of course the drag rats (Austin term- kids who hate rules and run away from home, ending up homeless on the drag) who want everything handed to them on a platter at others' expense (read liberals) never touch the stuff.

Reading further (haven't check out the actual thread, but saw the Ayn Rand libertarian comment ^) it's obvious that these people are literally just disconnected from reality in all ways, or lying is so ingrained in them they'll believe absolutely anything negative about the "opposition" (or both).  I particularly like the "Hitler was a conservative" line.  Hello, national SOCIALIST party!  haha  They just seem to thrive on lies!  It's actually pretty incredible!  I wonder what it's like to live that way?   :mental:
