My first post ever here at CC.
This response is really to all the lurking DU members reading this board. And I have only to ask a few questions.
Why is it okay with you to silence your opposition in this manner?
You willfully and enthusiastically cheer the denial of your fellow citizens 1st amendment rights.
Were it your beloved DU undergoing a Denial Of Service attack would you still be cheering? No, you would be calling for congressional intervention, and the lengthy imprisonment of those involved.
The 1st amendment is the one our founding fathers felt was THE most important. Yet so many of you breathe a collective sigh of relief, and dare I say JOY, when those with a differing point of view from your own is denied the right to express said point of view. To me that is disgusting.
I have registered 4 different user names at your supposed "Democratic" forum. Each of them were summarily banned for life when I asked nothing more than the most basic of questions that apparently differed with the accepted point of view on your forums. I never posted anything rude, no profanity (although that obviously isn't considered wrong at DU, judging by the volume of curse words posted EVERYWHERE on your site), nor did I attack, or even insult any of the members there. Yet I was kicked with no explanation. Each time I wrote to the moderators to ask, "Why was I banned?" I didn't write a vitriol filled e-mail, or even send one laced with curse words. I only asked why I wasn't even allowed to have a differing point of view. On each occasion the response I received was silence. As not one of the moderators who banned me could find time to respond to my polite question I finally figured out what was going on, the staff at DU are cowards, as are most of the members. Apparently at DU you either agree with the majority or are banned.
So here is how I see you lurking DU member, stuffed shirts, loud mouthed bullies, cowards, blowhards, etc. I see offers for you to join here all the time, yet you won't. You can't participate in a civil debate, you probably can't even participate in a civil conversation. So you hide behind your keyboard. When you see something that disagrees with your world view you cheer when it is removed in some underhanded way.
You gladly trample on others constitutional rights and beat your chests in celebration of it. You make the Stalin's and the Mao's of the world proud. As far as Americans go you rank at the bottom of the pile. You support the constitution and Bill of Rights in matters that agree with your own view of how things should work. When it is uncomfortable or in opposition to how you think you gladly cast those fundamental rights of US citizenship aside.
If I have portrayed any of you DU lurkers in a way you feel is incorrect then please take the time to respond here and tell me how I am wrong. Unlike your echo chamber you won't be banned for telling me why I am wrong. When the posts don't show up I'll know it is DU members not making them.
P.S.- STINKY, IF YOU ARE READING THIS: I KEPT A MOLE ALIVE AND UNRECCED EVERY ONE OF YOUR POSTS AS I KNOW HOW MUCH IT UPSET YOU. I TOOK GREAT PLEASURE IN YOUR PETULANT RANTS ABOUT ANONYMOUS PEOPLE UNRECCING YOU. SADLY THAT MOLE WAS BANNED WITHOUT MAKING A SINGLE POST, BUT KNOW THAT I WENT TO BED MANY A NIGHT WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE THINKING OF YOU BEING IRATE AT SOMEONE DISAGREEING WITH YOUR WORTHLESS, ANGRY, SELF-CENTERED POINT OF VIEW.
