Next time a teabagger whines about school systems' last-hired-first-fired policies...

put on your dropcloth and ask them why it's okay for the almighty Private Sector to do it that way, but not the public education system.

That's just one of the chances you take when you go to work ANYWHERE. If there's a downturn in business and someone's got to be put on part-time hours, temporarily laid off or terminated completely, Old Frank, who's been there forty years, isn't going to be let go, Jerry out on the loading dock, who got hired a month ago, will be. (In part because the boss knows the first thing Old Frank did when he got here was copy off the boss's Rolodex...)

Ok what am I missing here? I can't recall any teabagger [sic] whining about that.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

The closest thing to that I've heard  is complaining about tenure.  That is a problem when lousy teachers are retained, period.

Did Gov. Walker say anything about how horrible it is that the newest teachers will be laid off?  That's what I would expect this to be from.

Once again, it goes over the DUmmie's heads that had the public servant unions not decided to hold the government hostage, NO ONE would be getting laid off.

Uh, what???

Not exactly misfits.   The private sector hits middle management first as they make the most money, and eliminating those positions equates to the least amount of layoffs and the biggest savings.

They aren't saving any money laying off Jerry on the loading dock, who probably makes minimum wage.

Freakin morons.

Yeah, I was going to point that out.  Non-unionized private employers get rid of those that have been promoted into jobs they can't do, those who do jobs that are not necessary for the business to run, and those that don't work.  Last in - first out is a union thing that protects the non-working dues-paying members.

I like that one better.   :II:

I am giving you points for even knowing what a Rolodex is at your tender age. :rotf:

Nice straw man they've set up there but every place that I've worked at got rid of the least productive or least needed personnel first.
25 years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.  Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.

They don't. That's a union concept, with only 7% of the private sector belonging to a union.

In the real world, the deadbeats are let go. They're kinda forced to produce for their paycheck.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
