Rahm Emanuel wins Chicago mayor race
« on: February 22, 2011, 09:13:39 PM »

Rahm Emanuel won the Chicago mayor's race Tuesday night, gaining well over the 50% he needed to avoid a runoff, according to unofficial returns.

With 87% of the precincts counted, Emanuel held just under 55% of the vote. His nearest competitor, Gery Chico, had 24%. Both CNN and the Associated Press called the election for Emanuel, who was President Obama's chief of staff until he resigned to run for mayor after Richard M. Daley announced he would not seek reelection.

I'd rather poke my eye out with a fork than vote for this sleazy POS.  What is wrong with these people?

They will certainly get what they asked for.

It does make me wonder when I see things like this, Emanuel now, Reid in Nev, etc. Shady.

Wasn't he adjudicated inellegible to run a couple of months ago?

Just one more case where the courts don't mean dick to a Dhimmi'Rat when they don't say what the Dhimmis want them to, assuming he was deemed inellegible, of course.

That's what I thought as well, so it was a shocker to see Rahm had won the mayoral race.

I researched Reid, he won all of 2 counties out of 21 I believe, but it's where SEIU controlled the voting machines. Shady, indeed! Who the hell let's a demoncRat union organization shill, control the voting?

How many dead people voted for him?  How many illegal aliens?

And how many asshats! Its not the sleazy politicians its the dimwitted jerkoffs that vote for them. There's plenty of em and outright commies to boot. :censored:
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Let the corruption begin.

By virtue of being elected mayor, Rahm has guaranteed he will rise no higher in politics. The corruption trials will see to that. Federal prosecutors probably ought to open a permanent office in city hall.

Sometimes I wonder if its possible to save places like Chicago and Detroit.

I would love to make a crack about the annual Chicago 'Day of the Dead' celebration, but considering the dismal selection candidates, he almost certainly did win it fairly.

Compared to the other major candidates who ran, he's actaully the most conservative.

What, were you guys thinking that a Republican could win as mayor of Chicago? :lmao:

I should have gone to Vegas. :banghead:

From this thread, here was my prediction:

The coronation is about to take place.  The big question is whether Rahmbo gets the 50% plus one vote to avoid a run-off.  I'm betting he ends up with 55% of the vote.

And the actual results:

Emanuel 321,773 votes 55.2%
Chico 139,635 votes 24.0%
del Valle 54,081 votes 9.3%
Moseley Braun 52,180 votes 9.0%
Van Pelt Watkins 9,561 votes 1.6%
Walls 5,264 votes 0.9%

Will he wear tights or a tutu to the office?

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
