Lefties overplayed their hand; RE: bogus doctors' notes
« on: February 21, 2011, 05:42:44 PM »
Quote
After viewing the videos at my request last night, Dr. Arthur Derse called me up exclaiming, “Holy mackerel! It’s much worse than it looked in the paper. I’m stunned, absolutely stunned.” Dr. Derse is the Director of Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities a the Medical College of Wisconsin. “When all’s said and done, it’s really the profession of medicine that has the black eye in this case,” he says.

There is no question these doctors are masking political opinion in the white coat of the medical profession, Dr. Derse believes. “The videos are pretty damning.”

It’s sad, but what puzzles me most is how in the world three of the four physicians I can identify from these videos and other media reports are faculty members of UW’s Family Medicine department, and one is a senior resident in that same department. It’s a good training program, committed to providing sorely-needed primary care doctors to the state of Wisconsin. It teaches professionalism, and its faculty are supposed to model integrity. What were they thinking?

They’ve managed to belittle a public trust between physicians, employers and patients. A doctor’s sick note is a serious document. It represents an employer’s desire to verify through a respected, independent, medically qualified third party the fact of an illness and the true need for convalescence. In the videos now circulating online, we witness multiple members of a noted family medicine department trash one of the well-recognized rights and privileges of their profession, with little forethought as to the consequences.

They just gave every kid in school a license to fake a note to get out of class.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

"Professionalism", "Integrity", "Public Trust", "Rights", "Privilege", "Consequences"...
What do they care? It's all grist for the mill in mamby pamby land.

"A Doctor's sick note is a serious document". The good Doctor is spot on right here, a sick note signed by a licensed Physician is a legal document. This will prove to be the thing that sinks the fearsome fangs of karma deep in their collective ass. They will pay for this.

Honestly, I would never , ever ask my doctor to risk their job, ethics or integrity or mine to write a fake sick note!! These teachers need to stop the BS , get of their collective asses and do what the tax payer pays them to do and that is, to teach kids!!!  Who are watching these kids whose teachers are protesting?? The kids might like a temporary break now, but they might have to pay for it somewhere down the line. If I was a parent, I would be pissed to no end!!! :argh:

IMO, all of these culprit Doctors should have their medical licenses suspended for a while. If a Dr. gets caught writing fake prescriptions, they may very well lose their licenses for good. I see them as parallel and equally as bad.

What really gets me is how many people turn a blind-eye to this or outright deny it's happening.  The link to PZ Myers' blog I provided in a thread in the "Mind Numbing Stupidity" thread illustrates this.  "Prove they're real doctors!  Where's your proof?  It's just a phony Breitbart stunt!"  Progressives are insane.

This is medical fraud, pure and simple.  Those doctors should be out of a job by the week's end.

I have to have pain meds because of the six screws in my back. You wouldn't believe the hoops both my doctor and I have to jump thru in order to get them prescribed.

This shit really pisses me off! I have no insurance right now do to ObieOne and his heath care bullshit pricin' COBRA right out of my pocket!

Had to go see a pain management counselor today that told me, "yeah, you need 'em". Cost me 228 bucks, cash! I have to do this because so many people and their doctors game the system for drug money and the DEA flags pain killer prescriptions that go on for any length of time!

And these pricks in WI don't want to pay half what the private sector does in order to keep their healthcare and pensions!

Asking is one thing; a physician willing to lie for a political stunt is quite another.

And, absolutely, were I a parent I'd be demanding some dismissals.

It is disgusting.  "A sick note is a serious legal document."  That's right, and so is a prescription.  This really does breach a basic social contract.  You ought to be able to trust anything that certain professionals affix their signatures to, a CPA is another.

I don't have too much of a problem obtaining pain meds. I have four screws in my back plus some rods and a two level fusion in my neck. Add in spinal stenosis and my Ataxia and they seem to be fairly forgiving. However, I rarely exceed to prescribed dosage, if not use less. I've had most of these meds for ten years now.

Thor and Allo, you poor men!! How did that happen, did you have a bad accident or was it during your military deployments?? You both seem to be in good spirits however....

My back & neck problems started while I was in the military, but didn't get bad enough for surgery until after I retired. I think that lifting a washing machine up the stairs started the lower back and an auto accident exacerbated the neck problems. Not to mention a few slips and falls on the ice when I lived in MN. I also fell off of a ladder once, bouncing off of a few things on my way down.

Unfortunately, as state licensing boards are peer-run, the chances of actual SERIOUS consequences are close to nil.  I look at what the CA Med Licensing Board did when I lived out in CA.  Incompetent doctors were killing children during birth by misusing forceps and they only pulled the guy's ticket after the FOURTH time he did it.  (Western Medical Center in Anaheim--forget the Dr. name.)

Also consider that they're THINKING about taking action against the fertility doctor who gave us Octomom.

This is beyond the reality for me.

Yes these doctors notes are a legal document, if a Doctor will dispence these notes for a political reason, will they also write false RX for Oxycontin, Methodone or other customers that give them a few bucks in cash.??

Easy way to track down these so called medical professional, when the kids turn in their notes of excuse ask the kids what the name of their doctor is.-------  Watch the reaction of the kids that have no idea.

Then contact the doctors if they are actually doctors and not nurses that have stolen the RX pads and ask if the patient is in fact a patient of theres.

This is a very serious felony for both the kids and those that issued these excuses.

We need to really look into this as federal laws regarding prescriptions have been given out to anyone for any reason.  These excuses were written on RX pads.     This is a CRIME same if you or I were to steal a RX pad and gain benefits under fraud.

This makes me feel really old, I have no memory of my or my kids schools teaching a course in how to comit fraud and get away with it.

No, the DEA watches the prescriptions that the Doctors write. That's WHY they're very careful when writing scrips for narcotics, amphetamines & other street marketable medications.

Yep, in both instances they are breaking the law.  They're aiding and abetting the teachers in defrauding the school system said teachers PROFESS to care so deeply about.

It's the only way you can keep them! If you run out before yer 'sposed to, then you do without! If ya doctor shop, in order to have two writin' prescriptions, you not only lose your meds, ya spend time as a guest of the county! I had to sign a contract with my last doctor that stated what I could and couldn't do. Had to submit to piss tests whenever he felt like it, had to use the same pharmacy, had to have any test he thought I should have, and submit to a physical once a year, whether I could afford any of the above, or not!

I've been takin' one pain killer or another since '98, and I have always had them last at least a week longer than prescribed.

Once you find a doctor who is willin' to write 'em, ya hold on to 'em! Ya have to put up with their paranoia of the DEA, which is why I had to see this counselor BTW, but it's a small price to pay.

Don't know about you, but without 'em, it's a bitch to get outa bed and get anything done! All they do for me is take the edge off, anyway. I have completely forgotten what it was to live without the little cocksucker with the cleats on, livin' between L4 and L5!

I've had a pain rX since 2003, and really could've used it by 1987.  Long list of chronic pain inducing conditions.  I had to sign a contract with my doctor, and of course Tricare monitors ALL my prescriptions on a monthly basis.
And yeah, my doctor is a bit freaked out by the DEA after one of his professional colleagues got zapped for writing a narcotic pain prescription for a patient when he was a shrink and was trying to help his patient with her pain issues.  The shrink can't write ANY prescriptions for 2 years, so I think that means he's not going to be able to practice, although they didn't take his license or throw him in jail.

The DEA is out of control when it comes to prescription drugs. Havin' said that, there are way to many "fakers" out there that feign some kinda chronic pain and way too many lazy doctors just chargin' 'em an office call and writin' scripts for their fraud. I think if ya watch the videos from WI, it will give you an idea about who these doctors are. Can ya imagine bein' able to write scripts on a college campus?

If those Docs aren't reprimanded, I'll lay odds they're gonna be, or already are, livin' in the million dollar club before they move on to a real job!

The chronic pain fakers make life difficult for those of us with legitimate pain issues, much as the booboolinks of the world make it hard for the truly down on their luck to get any recognition of their real crises.

The only time the doctor gave me a prescription that i wish i didn't have to take was floruxitine(sp?) the generic form of prozac, was after I was diagnosed with depression about 3 months after I found out I was a diabetic. it does help keep me straight , focused, and I am not on a emotional roller coaster...

When I first hurt my back, it took me 2 years to convince them I actually had an injury. It didn't show up until they did a mylogram, ( that's real fun, but I wouldn't recommend it, hehe )! When I got home at night after walkin' concrete all day, the kids had to help me outa the car!

The whole problem was the fraudsters! The Comp guys automatically think nowadays that you're just tryin' to scam the system. Problem was my ****in' employer, who I had made millions of dollars, had the same train of thought!

It's not one of my fonder memories!
