Funny, my neighbors are legal Mexican immigrants and I love living next door to them as they are better people than the homegrown section 8 variety that I am stuck with on the other side..
They work their butts off, have a beautiful house and throw one hell of a party.
They believe in the theory that if you invite the neighbors over they won't complain about the party. And my god can she cook!
My daughter has a friend that makes the best cheesecake I have ever eaten! He's a
legal Mexican immigrant! My granddaughter loves the guy, and he loves her! He comes by to use the shootin' range every once in a while and uses targets with a guy crawlin' under a fence for practice! First time I saw them, I was blown away! I should mention, he's done 2 tours in Iraq.
His Mom and Dad speak English as well as I do, and they think it would be an insult to us if they didn't! His Dad told me that was the first thing on their agenda once they got here. He owns a bakery down in Post Falls. He has the most beautiful home on his block and maintains it better than any of his neighbors! As far as I'm concerned, he is the best example of bein' an American that I know of!
The guy is as anti-immigration as I am! I understand why, too! He is hard core Catholic, he and his family did it the right way. If he had his way, he'd send anyone here illegally, back at gun point! He says we do need migrant workers here for farming. That's how he got involved in becoming a citizen. But if ya want to become a citizen, the wrong thing to do is come here illegally!
