Those were hilarious.  Fifteen years since I've been in Deutschland and I still understand 75% of what they're saying.  Now I am sad.  Miss those wursts, schnitzels, Balkan platters, beer :drool: :bawl:

Leider nicht.  Ich lernte Deutch im Gymnasium, und ein bissel mehr waehrend Universitaetstudierung, dann diente drei Jahre in einer Panzerabteilung fast bei Mannheim als Soldat und Feldwebel.  Nach viele Jahre kamm' ich zurueck fuer ein Jahr mehr (Als mobilisiert Offizier), aber bei Wuerzburg mit der 1, Infanteriedivision Hauptquartier.  Auch ungefaehr sechs kuerzer Militaer-Uebungsreise, 2-3 Wochenlang, zwischen 1992-2005. 

Am meistens habe ich gelernt, man kann viel mehr Spass haben mit dem Geld ein Major bekommt, als mit dem Geld ein Feldwebel oder Unteroffizier bekommt!

Meine Haustermeisterin hat mir Deutsch etwas gelehrt.  Sofort konnte ich einfacher Worter lernen, weil die so ahnlich wie Englisch sind.  Aber mein Wortschatz ist wie ein Kind, und vergessen Sie mein Grammatic!!
Es war interessant das mehr Bier mein Ehemann getrunken hat, mehr Deutsch er versteht.  Die besten Zeit wir haben in Deutscland passiert waren im Festhalle. :cheersmate:

I wondered whether you were still on AD; my hubby finally hung up his chicken wings (CW5) a little over three years ago.  Still plan to use the IRA and 401(k) money from his civvy job for a looooooooooooong boondoggle in Europe within the next 10 years.  Preferably before it's completely overrun with Muslims and sharia law is implemented.

Yeah, my MRD is comin' up pretty quick.  I signed on as a private in 1975, it's been a kinda long strange trip, a bit under half of it on active duty in five different chunks.  I expect to be totally retired from everything in a little over a year.

Hubby enlisted in 1977 but stayed active, except for a three-month break after his first tour, until the end of '07.  My sister retired after 20 years from the Army Reserve so doesn't get her military pension check until she turns 60.  I think reservists should draw their retirement pay as soon as they are finished.  At least her hubby already gets 3 checks-police and military retirement AND social security.  So they're making it quite well, even living in IL.
