Anarchism and the religion of lower taxes and free market
Edited on Wed Feb-16-11 01:17 PM by nadinbrzezinski
Many of you are going over a plan they got to throw the economy back into recession. No, they don't have a plan. They are followers of a very strange religion, and like all religions it does have articles of faith. You do not question articles of faith. So if the faith tells you that Jesus rose after the third day from the grave, well he did. Never mind that we all know people do not rise from the grave.

This religion our anarchist friends on the other side of the aisle hold have a few articles of faith. Notice how unlike the scaraments of the left, namely thought control, abortion, perversion, and national weakness
1.- The Federal government is too big.  Ever notice you warm your hands at a campfire and flee a forest fire, Nadine?  Why is that?

2.- Government jobs are evil and all has to be privatized. If a job is within the proper scope of a government, why would I want it eliminated or regard it as evil?

3.- The Free market should dictate all  No, but the fre market will satisfy most needs and requirements better than Nadine's special central planning committee.

4.- Regulation is bad.  No, illconceived, pointless, pandering regulations are bad.  We all want clean water, leftists want to interfere in what should be private negotiations between an employee and an employer

So if you lose half a million government jobs, see article of faith number two. The faith wil not allow them to connect that these people spending less will lead to a slow down in the economy. So will spending money you don't have and won't generate anytime soon.
The FIFTH article is...

5.- Government spending to stimulate the economy is bad. We are mired in a deep recession while Germany, which did not have a stimulus is starting to boom.  The stimulus was a costly mistake.

So yes, we know and understand the consequences, but realize... to these people GOVERNMENT IS EVIL... it is that simple. So getting rid of government is the final objective. They ARE anarchist... understand this. This is not a plan. This is religious belief.

And to those of us who have actually talked to some of the high priests of the faith (A state senator who wanted to get taxes down to zero), we understand that this is not a plan but a religion. And talking to people who hold on to their faith this way... is impossible. Oh and the Teahadists are the true believers, the acolytes in the faith... and as true believers they WILL close the government down. Since government is bad...it is a win-win to them.

Nadine you worship at altar of the state.  Because you expect it to give you both succor and power over the unwashed who don't know what is right for themselves.  Further proof that you do not understand what you post about.  You and the other DUmmies take "less government" press it to the absurd extreme of "no government" and then pretend that the right said anything of the sort.

4. To be totally honest I
Edited on Wed Feb-16-11 02:34 PM by white_wolf
simply always thought of Anarchism as the pure absence of government such as we see in Somalia. I really didn't think there was different "brands" of it. You learn something new every day it seems. My biggest problem with Anarchism though is the simple fact that it can't exist. I mean going back to Somalia there is pretty much no formal government, but there are many warlords who hold power and control people's lives. There may not be legitimate authority in an anarchist society, but there will always be power and more often than not it will be abused.

Quite possibly a mole.

5. that is the purest form
and somalia gets the closest to the purest form.

Our Republicans hate government, would prefer NOT to have any government. That is by definition, anarchism,

And it is a religion to them.

I have also called some of the high priest of the faith anarchist to their face. They usually have that face of shock... until I go down their articles of faith and show this to them. I hope it may shake them out of it, but it won't. They really do not believe in government, and prefer to get rid of it.

Sure ya did, Nadine.  Just like you talked that State Senator.  Government is a tool like a fire, Nadine.  Neither are a problem until they grow too large to effectively be controlled.

Like a lot of Lib BS, there is a tiny kernel of fact underneath the impressive edifice of pure kosher bologna she has built here.  A certain type of Libertarian, who the Leftists would probably regard as Conservatives, but Conservatives would just regard as stupid Libertarian wackdoodles, do regard themselves as some special brand of anarchists.  Robert Heinlein, for instance, when he started going off the rails toward the end of his life (Stranger in a Strange Land and most of his later works) was kind of involved in this and hinted at it in some of his writing.

Wow!  I never knew that all those protesters at G-8 summits and other similar meetings were conservative anarchists. From the violence they committed I assumed they were leftists.

I tend to favor a smaller government.  The size and scope of government I would like to see would hardly be a non-existant government.  This whole "Anything not forbidden is required" mentality coming out of the statists on the left and the right is getting tiresome.

Most Conservatives would certainly agree with a minimalist government, Vagabond, Heinlein occasionally wandered off into 'No-government' thinking, though.  It's an idea popular with a certain particular strain of hard-over extreme Libertarian, the problem with it is it's a model with a very limited run-time before bad people start coalescing into groups to exploit it, and good people have to start coalesing into groups to fight them off, and pretty soon you'd end up right back at feudalism.

I think when all the colored squares on Nadins rubicon cube are lined up that script is readable.
