HHS and Social Security make the defense budget look dwarfish by comparison.  I thought SS was intended to be self-sustaining.  Why do we still have a federal Department of Education when the states are still responsible for running their own schools?  There are no federal public schools in this country.

Obama is spinning big time on TV.  Some reporter asked him about the increasing deficit after he had said we weren't using the credit card anymore.  Of course blame was put on President Bush.

WTF?  He is now saying that they are cutting LIHEAP because energy costs have went down?   :censored:

Just to put a TRILLION into perspective-

A trillion is one million million.

A trillion dollar bills laid end to end would reach to the sun from the earth, 93 million miles. That is equal to the distance from N.Y. to L.A. 38,067,949,242 times.

To spend one trillion dollars at a rate of one dollar per second would take 32,000 years.
