Interesting....diesel fuel prices....the stuff heavy industry runs on hasn't fallen....at least not here.
And it likely won't. Stocks are going to drop as the season goes on because of heating oil demands. All the more reason I'm glad I topped off my tank in July when the price was "only" $3.199 a gallon here. It's now $3.60-3.70 gallon, depending on where you get it. I'm figuring about $3.75 on my first fill after Christmas, and close to $4.00-4.10/gallon on the second fillup around the end of February.
If we're lucky, when I top off after the season (I usually have the furnace guy do the annual maintenance in April or so and do final fill then) it'll have dropped to about $3.75 again by next spring, otherwise I'll just wait until mid-summer to do my fill.
At 180-200 gallons a fillup, that comes out to 550-600 gallons for the winter, or about $2200-2500, give or take.
