LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors say they will charge Lindsay Lohan with felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace reported stolen from a jewelry store.

The charge, which will be filed Wednesday, brings the troubled star another step closer to returning to jail. She is due in court for an arraignment on that afternoon.

Los Angeles police said Feb. 2 that Lohan was under investigation for taking a necklace from a Venice store later identified as Kamofie and Co. Detectives obtained a search warrant to try to retrieve the item from Lohan’s home, but it was turned into a police station before any search was made.

A phone message to Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, was not immediately returned.

Lindsay Lohan was charged Wednesday with felony grand theft in a California court.

She allegedly stole a necklace, worth $2,500, from a Venice, Calif. store.

Lohan will be arraigned at 1:30 PM PT, at which time she will have her mug shot taken and have the opportunity to post bail.

Lohan will be accompanied by her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley.

 Will she ever serve time? She should be in jail/prison. She is given a break and should not be. She at this point will be dead soon if they keep on enabling her.

I don't think the majority of these actors are half as messed up when they first hit the left coast but look at them a few years down the road and they are just not the same people who arrived there young and fresh faced from Iowa or wherever.
Tom Cruise is a fine example. I can recall seeing him in interviews in the early eighties and he struck me as just an average sort of Joe, the sort of young twenty something you might run into anywhere. These days I wonder what planet he's actually from.

Addiction is very serious. It is not victimless either. Lohan should of been in jail or prison a long time ago.
