I had my own gardening business for a while. It paid the bills.

I've also sold things I've made for good money. Especially seasonal stuff like Christmas wreaths.


Also, My family has had a business for 3 generations.

much it costs just to stay open. And it makes you realize how much you pay in taxes, when instead of getting the "refund" you have to write them the check and pay them! Tremendous psychological difference.

Yet DUmmies want to raise taxes!!!

The last "Job" I had was in 1980. I've always worked for myself in one way or the other. Since being a pro musician is a total exercise in futility now, I have to do other things but I just can't stand the thought of having to answer to someone~

The first part was the truth, and you still answer to your supplier.

If half of these DUmmies ever ran their own business, they wouldn't be the liberal socialist DUmmies that they are.

They regard as a 'Business' finding some crap at a yard sale and re-selling it on eBay every month or two.  Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the ones that claimed 'Yes' treated the money from their various disability scams as 'Self-employment' income.  Or maybe they just misread 'Self-employment' as 'Self-enjoyment.'

Right there this DUmmy proves a point I have said for years, withholding and tax refunds makes it so most people have no clue of how much money the Govt takes from paychecks. If we had to write out a check every quarter, or year, or what have you, more people would realize just how much we are getting soaked for.

Withholding and refunds was a brilliant PR move by the Govt.

DUmb****s don't realize that they let the gubmint use their money every year either.

You can make a helluva lot more money in savings than ya can Uncle Sam. He don't pay interest. He holds onto your money and you don't make a damn dime!

It's always better to write a check than get a refund!

Dunno about that. I've seen shows on A&E (or Spike, True TV or whatever channel it was) about that and from what I've seen the money is great. Of course ya got to worry about extremely hostile takeovers and forced vacations to the Hotel De Jail. Not to mention OD'ing on your product. Sounds right up the Dumpmonkies alley!!!

Im not sure about this - several of them probably consider selling second hand trash or home made hippie crap on Ebay and/or Craigslist a 'job' - and even though they love taxes, I suspect they write off part of their homes as 'office space' too.

I got a hunski that says not a single one of the 'YES' voter knows what Schedule SE is.

It is the most evil of the tax forms.
