I'm getting tired of being a Republican

Yes I'm venting, but the non-response from Republicans in reference to Obama and Egypt has really ticked me off, now with the wikileaks about Great Britain and Obama turning on an ally, and the continued horrible treatment towards Israel, I'm reaching my breaking point. My only option would be to re-register as a Conservative, no way would I register and an Independent or Libertarian, but in doing that I can't vote in the Republican primaries, so I'm stuck. I just want to throw my hands up in the air and give up. I'm tired of Republicans and the PC attitude when it comes to Obama, this treatment of our allies is serious and what are they saying about it? NOTHING!

At best he will make us hated by much of the world (what the regressives accused Bush of doing!). At worst he will go down in history as the man who allowed a major regional war to start (if the Muslim Brotherhood rules Egypt, has the loyalty of the Egyptian military and lives up to its promise to attack Israel), or dare I say, a third world war (depending on what happens in the next two years and how he handles those events). The silence is deafening indeed.

I hate sounding like I'm whining, but you just don't do that to your allies, especially allies who've been there for us on the war on terror, and on top of that a media who refuses to report what's really going on, and Republicans being silent of the issue for IMO politically correct reasons.

I've got a freshman Repub representative in this congress.  I just emailed him to either get off his testicles and call out some of this shit.  I was less than nice about it, because numbnuts had right on the homepage of his web site how he had called out to the President his willingness to work with him on the budget and economy, and about tossed my supper all over my keyboard.

I've been tired of Republicans for years and I blame them for the mess we're in today.  How many opportunities did the Republicans waste when they were in power?   

I become a bigger fan of the Tea Party by the day.

The Republicans are in a tough spot on it...they know he's an idiot who has demonstrated he actually has no concept of the whole "Rule of law" thing when it comes to foreign countries like Egypt or Afghanistan following their own election law at least.  But on the other hand, he is the President and in the middle of a developing foreign policy crisis (Though he does seem to be actively trying to make it worse), and sharpshooting his dismal performance is exactly the kind of backstabbing Bush had to endure and the GOP is therefore leery of it.

I tired of repukes after Bushs first term. Actually it sort of went out of the window when Bush won the nomination over Forbes. Nobody I vote for President EVER gets elected. So I re-registered many moons ago as an independent. I am a christian first, an American second, a conservative third and somewhere down the list I guess Im republican, but its a closely guarded secret I choose not to disclose to the repuke "leadership". But I still get mailings from them.

I must have given about $30 or $35k to help Bush beat Gore ... and all I got was this lousy "compassionate conservative" double speak and all it entails like new entitlement programs with it. Kind of makes me think of McCain light. Which btw is what the entire "leadership" reminds me of. In my thinking the democrat party is actually the socialist/ marxist party now. And the republican party is the socialist light or the democrat party now.

On the other hand ... the tea party candidates are a diff matter. THEY hold the keys to my view of how republicans should behave. Unfortunately they are the freshmen and hold no power other than in numbers. Thats why the next 2 elections are crucial. So we can throw out the crony, phony, blue blood, Rockefeller repuke "leaders" out. Repuke is easy to remember them by. I say it because they make me sick. There are exceptions of course ... Like Sen Jim DeMint and the tea party candidates. But they are the exception and not the rule.

So your certainly not alone. But resistance will always be unpopular ... (especially in the DC and elite MSmedia crowd) as Im sure Sen DeMint can testify to. If you wanna be popular and liked and invited to the DC circuit cocktail partys, and invited to speak on the sunday morning network news talk shows, then be a democrat or side against republicans like McCain does so leisurely. Im sure McPuke can testify to that. Its not about party anymore. Its about ideology. Its about a constitutionally guided representative republic. Nothing less will do.

Sorry for the rant ... I hate what these bastards are doing to our country ... once a beacon of freedom to the world.

It would be the best policy, however he has already opened his unschooled yap about Mubarak needing to go now instead of actually awaiting the next election, someone seems to have gotten to him with the thorazine toward the end of the week and he backed off of saying anything more that was overtly stupid and dangerous along about Thursday.

Even Henry Kissinger, interviewed on Fox News this morning stated, "........the best policy for this Administration would be to shut up on publicly televised statements......."

US involvement in Eqyptian politics should be completely "behind the scenes",  He stated further (paraphrased) that so far, there is no indication that the Egyptian protest movement is "anti-US" but that could change if the president doesn't keep his mouth shut.

I agree. My husband commented about all of this on the news and said something along the lines of, "the last time our dollar was weak and the outlook bleak and a Middle East nation rioted, it didn't turn out so well for the sitting Dem president.

I have to agree. In addition to the entitlement programs, we got DHS and TSA under him. The same DHS and TSA that is violating the 4th Amendment in the name of 'security.'
