Mrs. Alfred Packer hawking earrings

Oh my.

As those who've kept track of the saga of the Packer clan down there in northeastern Oklahoma know, Mrs. Alfred Packer for some time has been trying to bring some bacon into the house, as hippyhubby Wild Bill's still-building business is threatened with competition.

For a bit, Mrs. Alfred Packer became an Avon lady, and was good enough at it that she was awarded one of those pink Cadillacs.....which lasted all of two days, before Wild Bill decided he needed the engine as a generator for one of his stills.

Well, now Mrs. Alfred Packer's doing earrings via eBay.

Unfortunately, the Packer Paypal account is in hippyhubby's name, so one wonders what's going to happen with that.  As I mentioned earlier in another thread, there's a new story evolving.

Anyway.

Crystal and Pearl Earrings Part 3

All of my earrings are made from glass components, no plastic, resin, acrylic, or lucite. Most of the beads are either Czech crystals or Swarovski, even some of the pearls are Swarovski Elements, so they simply sparkle! All of the findings are either silver or gold-plated, copper or brass depending on what I thought looked best with each color combination. I only purchased findings that indicated they are both nickel and lead free.

Every pair of earrings on hooks or hoops comes with a free pair of transparent rubber stops to keep your jewelry where it belongs - securely in your ears! If your purchase is a gift, tell me that and I will ship them with a small lilac organza gift bag with ribbon drawstring, also at no additional cost.

Domestic shipping is only $1.50 for the first pair and free shipping on additional items when combined in the same mailing for standard USPS shipping, for up to three pairs, and .25 for each additional set of three. I've always appreciated receiving things I order over the internet as quickly as possible, so that will always be my policy for my customers. All orders will be shipped out within 1 business day. I apologize that at the moment I am completely snowed in so shipping will be delayed a by a few days.

If you do see something you would like, simply reply to my posts and I will PM to get your shipping address and email address. I will then send you the Paypal information to your email address.

If you don't see exactly what you're looking for, or something you would like but in a different color, just ask me. I can probably accommodate most every desire, and I will surely make every attempt to do so. Let me know what you would like, we can talk about what it is you're looking for, and I will design something just for you. I will send pictures of any custom orders for your approval before purchase.

I really appreciate all of you for looking at my personal handiwork. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. :D

Thanx again!

The campfire's loaded with photographs, and I suggest those interested, check them out at the link above.

Earrings aren't franksolich's thing; he prefers that ears look natural and clean and pure and unsullied.

But those who have other tastes are welcome to offer their assessment of the aesthetic value of these goods.

1. These are beautiful!

I think the true colors of this jewelry would show up better on a white background. I will think about ordering, I have a weakness for earrings! For instance (k): the pearl looks golden, and the ruby crystals look amber.

2. Thank you for mentioning that, north.

That pair at least is showing up well on my monitor. It's important to remember that these will show up differently on different monitors. That's why I try to give as detailed a description as I can.

I hope you will revel in your weakness. I gotta fix for that.

Well, as usual, one wishes Mrs. Alfred Packer well in her new business endeavor; that she becomes the 21st-century Helena Rubenstein or Mary Kay or Margaret Avon or Peggy Tupperware.

But as long as the Paypal account's in Wild Bill's name, one is, uh, somewhat nervous for her.

We have to trust that she is charging an amount only equal to the cost of materials. To do otherwise would smack of greedy capitalism. If she's trying to exploit the DUmp for profit, she's hardly better than Bev Harris or the Andyscam folks, trying to widen the scandalous wealth gap in our country.

I also hope she is claiming what little profit she does make on her taxes.

They're still not my type of earrings.

frank, I'm bored out of my mind, I've been stuck in the house all day because of the weather, I've done nothing but clean and organize, but I just made this in 5 minutes, it's a bracelet :-)

I wonder if she's hiring.  :whistling:
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I thought she was selling all her trinkets at the nursing home, forcing the old folks to buy if they wanted meals, or their wheelchairs moved, or help getting to the bathroom. Maybe patients' families have complained to management about finding bags filled with cheap glass gewgaws in their loved ones' possessions.

Ditto here.

Not the snow, but the 55 mph winds with temperatures of 0 or below.

I'm so bored out of my mind that I arranged the buttons in the sewing kit today.

It seems to me you were more creative, madam, and it looks good!

Now that's bored, Coach!!! Maybe ya should take up online gaming! One can waste an inordinate amount of time playin' those things! "Tootsie", my 3 year old babysitter keeps me occupied most the day playin' on line Disney games. I'm beginnin' to think the computer belongs to her instead of me! hehehe!

Things will go fine for her until she slips up and leaves the "MADE IN CHINA with prison labor" label on one of her shipments. Damn greedy middle men women.

...and her executive salary is to high....tax her more.

Cute bracelet, Ballygrl!  If you bored people are surfing around, Failblog.org is always good for a few laughs.

All the snarking at Mrs. Packer aside, I applaud her attempt at business.  I hope she learns some valuable lessons; first and foremost, how hard it is to make a buck in your own business.  Damned DUmmies think that all businesses are instant ATM machines for their social welfare, and bottomless pits of costly compliance with their beloved regulation.

Well, yes, of course.

Being the sorts of people we here are, we wish Mrs. Alfred Packer nothing but success.

That's part of the reason I started posting her earrings-threads; to give her products more publicity and one hopes more sales, even from decent and civilized people.  I'm sure the market on Skins's island is much smaller than us.

I'm giving her far more publicity than a professional advertising agency would.

franksolich's main concern however, is that it's Wild Bill's Paypal account.

Nothing good could possibly come of that.

Well, I still think we should express concern for the children and slave laborers in China who actually made this paste-and-colored-glass "jewelry", before Mrs. Packer wired and glued the individual pieces together. If Mrs. Packer extracts more money from her buyers than she paid for the pieces in the first place, she's just trafficking in the misery of Asian peasants out of her own insatiable greed. And, after all, that's the reason the DUmp democrats hate WalMart, isn't it? At this point, Mrs. Packer is a small force in the to-and-fro of international trade, but that just puts her at the same place where Sam Walton started. This avalanche of sales revenue is pouring into Wild Bill's Paypal account, and we just can't trust him to reject the profit motive like a good democrat. I'm going to be really worried if she starts to market cosmetics and groceries.

I want to see her year-end tax forms.

100 bucks says they don't include her additional income...
