7. Everybody went back to work -- money still flowed to the ruling elites

Here, let me correct that for you:

Everybody went back to the welfare line -- money still flowed out of the productive.

Fixed for accuracy.

6. yes....that was definitely the difference.
we were pissed off, but we didn't have the desperation that the egyptians have. we won't home to our big screen TVs and SUVs and crap every night.

**** it all! We have the freedom and economic power to buy shit we want and enjoy it!

It's horrible that I can go to work, feed my family, educate my children and play with them on the weekends without fear of rogue cops, brazen criminals or power-mad invaders interrupting it all and for that I sold my soul!

I'm a horrible, horrible bunny!

22. yeah, i was in the same boat as you.....i didn't have a big screen tv or SUV either......
...I was generalizing and talking about joe 6-pack, not about you or me.

I went to every protest in Austin and Houston when I lived in those places.....I went home for the same reasons as you. Like I said, we were not as desperate as the egyptians.

Ah, the ol' "against their best interests" argument rears its ugly rear.

And the reason why CR doesn't have a military is because the US all but guaratees its security.

25. The largest protest against the Iraq war was February 15, 2003
That was the Global Day of Protest, which had been promoted in activist circles around the globe for weeks leading up to the protest day. This is officially recorded by Guiness as the largest anti war rally in all of human history, and involved around 3-10 million people (depending on the numbers you believe).

In the United States, protests took place in about 225 cities and towns. Even using the self-reported head counts of the organizers themselves, total turnout nationwide was somewhere around 1 million people. That's 1/300th of the U.S. population.

The protests themselves were innefectual anyway. Not only did the protesters all go home at the end of the day, but they pulled permits and protested in exactly the way the government ordered them to. When the city of New York told protesters that they could protest in place, but could not march, they dutifully obeyed. When they were told to clear the streets, they cleared the streets.

Americans protest, but we don't DEFY. That's the difference. When the governments of Egypt and Tunisia told their people to go home, the people refused. When they threatened them with arrest, the protesters ignored them. When the governments started shooting, the protests simply swelled in size and ferocity. The people would not be dissuaded from their goals.

Americans don't do this. We keep our protests on the sidewalks, confined to the routes and free speech zones approved by the government, and dutifully obey every order the PTB give us. While protesters elsewhere in the world hurl rocks and firebombs, and charge police barricades, we play with giant puppets and get sidetracked with Mumia whine-fests. I attended a planning meeting for an anti-war protest in the SF Bay Area in 2005(?), and the biggest concern for the organizers at the meeting was whether they would have enough PORTA POTTIES to comply with their permit. Seriously.

Americans are sheep.

The problem with a mob trying to depose an elected President, other than the obvious law enforcement and military hurdles you'd have to overcome, is that pesky half of the electorate who wouldn't take too kindly to you trying to forcibly eject the person they voted into office. That's not even counting the ones who didn't vote for him but still believe in the rule of law regardless.

You DUmbasses don't think we'd just let you waltz in and turn the Oval Office into a crash pad unmolested, do you?

Has anyone on Skin's island figured out that Egypt will be trading one figurehead for another, and that as long as the military holds the reigns over there essentially nothing will change?  I doubt it.  It's like that leader in Yemen; what did he control?  Maybe 12 city blocks or less?

These ****in' morons think that those who are too lazy to vote or don't get involved in the electoral process must agree with them by default. Nothing could be farther from the truth!

I got news for you idiots, better than 60% of the people in this country would kick your ass if you tried to shove your bull shit down their throats! You asshats actually believe your own polls. The sampling of which is decidedly so skewed to the result your left wing moonbat journalists want them to show, that their only purpose is to influence the lefts talking points to the point of absurdity!

If they actually conducted any of these polls in a fair manner you would find we would wipe the streets of you lunatics in a fashion that would make your pointy little heads spin into orbit!

Actually, you are very fortunate most Americans are so busy living their lives and raising their families, they refuse to pay attention to a bunch of left wing, drug induced lunatics, whinin' that they need their poopy diapers changed!

You morons do not want to wake up Joe 6 Pack from the slumber of goin' about his daily life. If that ever happens, you will soon find out just how small a minority you really are!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

They didn't mention how well the Tea Party protests worked?
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Not the same...the Tea Party actually had a crowd.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
