Two Tier Taxation ... Could it work ?

WHAT IF ....

What if we established a two tiered method of taxation ? ... In other words: What if we established two groups in this nation ?

> One group would pay ZERO taxes from here on out, BUT; they would have to pay their own way for access to the commons, including roadways, police coverage, fire protection coverage, public schooling, etc etc ... EVERYTHING that taxation pays for currently would become 'FEE FOR USE'. They pay no taxes, but the free ride is over for them; They pay for everything ...

> The other group would agree to reasonable levels of taxation, and would therefore obtain those services they desire, and which the other groups seems to despise: FULLY FUNDED public schooling, including university, single payer health care, transportation systems, et al ....

Could it work ? .... Just something that crossed my mind, but I don't understand the math ...

Inform us .... Please.

I have no idea where to start with this BS. My eye are bleeding from reading it. New bonfire.

Then there would be the third group...DUmmies,who would want to pay no taxes or fees and still demand everything be provided for them free.

What about the welfare parasites? Shouldn't they be paying too? As far as I am concerned welfare is income. I know that the welfare folks eat a hell of a lot better than me. I see them in the line at the grocery store buying steaks and such that I can't afford.

I like the concept. We could then say that we give the poor 300%+ more because that is what we earn but only get to keep.

Wow, I think that would put the bullet in the poor. A $1000/mo SSDI payment becomes $1300/mo. Have the food stamp card kicks in another $400/mo. Energy assistance would be at least $60/mo. Now we are looking at someone doing nothing to push society forward earning the equivalent of $21k+. That works out to $10.50/hr if you work and don't leech.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

sorry primitive, it wouldn't work.

Those who earn would remove themselves from the taxation pool, leaving those of you who don't to fend for yourselves. What little you earn would quickly jump to 90% taxation to maintain all your 'included' stuff.

I don't know what the parasites get, in the manner of benefits, but it must be good cause like I said, they seem to be able to eat better than I do.

I like the way you think, my friend. H5!!! Everyone should contribute to the general welfare of the people. I know that for a fact since the DumpMonkeys always cite the "promote the general welfare" clause of the US Constitution.

Hell... H5 again!   :cheersmate:

Edited to add: I can't give you 2 h5's within an hour. Sorry. Still feeling my way around.

That's pretty much what the asshat is sayin' here, except for he and others who now pay zilch, would have to start ponyin' up! If that's the case, I'm all for it! What's the percentage in this country that actually gets more from the gubmint than they pay in again? Wonder if this DipShit would agree to this if he had to pay taxes?

I've got an even easier answer! How 'bout we just eliminate the Earned Income Credit? WTF does that cost us who actually pay taxes every year? I had two kids and could count the number of times I qualified for it on one arm if I had a ****in' hook!

Aunt Jemima and her 8 kids are livin' high on the pig's feet every year about this time! Course, Uncle Terrell, Auntie's hubby, is no where to be found since his tax free income comes from sellin' Jemima's kids the crack they need, stealin' from Auntie's purse. If they had to include it as a family, they'd all be ****ed like the rest of us! Hell, he can't even live at home or else Auntie wouldn't have the money for 'em to steal in the first place!

Now that's what ya call a vicious circle!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhhhh, such is the life bein' a proud member of a minority voting block for the DemoncRat Party!!!

I know, I know! That's not PC and it's Racist to DUmmies! Too bad it's the ****in' truth!

The other group would agree to reasonable levels of taxation,

One problem with that DUmmy, you goons think 90% is a reasonable rate for other people than yourselves.

If tax rates were reasonable you wouldn't hear a single complaint from us on taxation. The fact that so many people in our country get soaked for 50% or more in taxes alone, is unreasonable. And before you goons say the top tax rate is 35%, you have to factor in state income tax, any county or local taxes, and property taxes. Yes I do count all those towards taxation since that money goes to govt and not towards meeting your own needs and wants.

One thing they don't understand if the feds taxed at 90%, by the time you added all the other taxes in, that person would have every dime taken away and still owe more. How anyone could think that is fair and reasonable is beyond me.

They also fail to distinguish between reasonable uses of tax money, and frivolous uses.  I don't know of many people who object to tax money being used to maintain public roads, police, fire departments, etc.  There are many who object to tax money being given to able bodied people for anything more than short term assistance.  This is one of the greatest failings of the DUmmies when they are attempting to discuss taxation.  They assume that all conservatives are hard line libertarians.

What would happen if somebody in the "taxed" category has no income to be taxed on?  Does he still get the benefits?  What if nobody with a decent salary decides to be taxed, or not enough to make the system self sufficient.  How about people who decide to opt into the tax free category once their salary reaches a certain level?

Sounds doomed to failure.  A consumption based tax would make considerably more sense, but the DUmmies can't stand that idea.

There's a forth group. Those who pay taxes and get a bill for services rendered from the police/fire dept., if they deem it a non emergency.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Epic thread fail.
The one thing the DUmmies never think of, what happens when those who are taxed to death LEAVE THE COUNTRY for countries that DON'T?
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

The OP is just another way of rehashing the same DUmmy argument of "If you don't like taxes, you must hate the fire department (etc, etc)".  I'll give DUmmy Trajan half a bong for trying.

I have a 2 tier tax system in mind as well.

Option 1 we pay the rates we paid under Bush.
Option 2 if you don't believe you pay enough taxes simply have them withhold more from every check and donate your refund every year to the Federal Govt.

That way those who advocate lower taxes pay them, those who advocate higher taxes can pay them.

I bet you not one single person will take option 2 but, they also can no longer go around saying they are taxed too little because they had the option of paying more.

Actually, I think we ought to make option 2 mandatory for every asshat that thinks taxes should be raised and set the rate at 80%!
