Sarah Palin on Barack Obama speech: 'W.T.F.'
« on: January 27, 2011, 06:47:35 PM »

Sarah Palin on Barack Obama speech: 'W.T.F.'

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin said Wednesday night that President Barack Obama’s call for “winning the future” during his State of the Union address is best framed by the acronym it shares with a much different phrase — “wtf.” “That was a tough speech to sit through and try to stomach,” Palin said during an interview with Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren.

“His theme last night was wtf, winning the future,” she continued. “I thought, okay, that acronym - spot on. There were a lot of wtf moments throughout that speech.” Palin, seemingly pleased with her joke, repeated the line later in the interview while poking Obama for referencing Sputnik in another section of his address. “That was another wtf moment,” she said.

The former governor also defended Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-Minn.) choice to give her own response to the State of the Union, following the official response from Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) with a speech streamed live by Tea Party Express. Palin dismissed those who criticized Bachmann for overshadowing Ryan, saying the Minnesota congresswoman “complemented” Ryan’s response. She also said both of the responses were “sound” in their message because they were both the “opposite” of Obama.

I have to disagree. Ever since Clinton shut down the government, Repubs lost their way even when they had both houses and a Repub President. The Repub party has not acted liked conservatives in quite a few years. Compassionate conservatism under Bush was a disaster.

Palin is a breath of fresh air who attacks Obama and liberal Democratic policies. The Tea Party is our only salvation. We need a strong leader who has many ideas like energy dependence who can digs us out of the ditch. I have asked this question a number of times; what candidate knows more about energy than her? Those manufacturing jobs lost will probably never come back but we have the resources to add millions of great paying jobs in the oil and natural gas industry. By all accounts from the former CEO of Shell, 3 millions jobs could be added. I don't think the mushy moderate RINO's or career politicians that might put their hat in the ring have a clue

I agree but everytime she opens her mouth the media gets some type of soundbyte that, imo, portrays Cons in a bad way.

SOP for the last 30 years, nothing new there.  The Republicans got their asses handed to them when they decided to worry about what the leftist media had to say about them more than staying true to conservatism.

If you listen to the left, they will tell you what they are afraid of and right now they are scared to death of Sarah and the Tea Party.

Let the media goons run their suck muscles, nobody is really listening to the anymore.

It is a shame that RINO's like McCain, Romney, Newt and 99% of the Repub Congress prior to the Tea Party coming along have been a bunch of mealy mouth wimps. About time conservatives start speaking up and setting the record straight. Obama lies just about every time he opens his mouth. Palin and the Tea Party folks should keep on pounding on the Dummiecrats.

Amen! If we turn on our own, we can only expect the Left to win.

So Palin said "WTF" in a reply and flipped someone off? Big whoop; are people that easily offended? Should she have been sipping tea with her pinky finger extended and using words of no less than five syllables, instead? Should she have tried the simpering, silver-tongued faux-politeness that people like Obama would pour on thick and heavy?

Good for her. I appreciate her forthright and fearless nature. There are plenty of people on the Right who are tired of being pressured and made to sit down and shut up and make nice with people who do not have the best interests of the country in mind. Sure, keep the profanities and ad hominems out of it (leave that to the Democrats), but for crying out loud, flipping someone off is peanuts where I come from.

And yeah, I do care where I come from, because we managed to survive and get things done even though the Bird got flipped and we weren't overly polite. Maybe I am just an old Jersey boy at heart. What matters, ultimately, is that you have the right politics, not that you get the media in a tizzy every time you open your mouth or so much as get out of bed in the morning.

What hurts the Right is not Sarah Palin but those of us who can't get together and support serious, genuine conservatives because we still insist on letting the media shape our views of our own, however subtly.

Well said. No matter who the GOP gets as the nominee, the left is going to use the nuclear option as far as defaming and character assassination goes. Even if Mitt Romney will be painted as a 'right wing extremist' by the media if he is our nominee, despite his RINOism.

Even if Mitt Romney was our nominee, the media and the dems will all too conveniently 'forget' that he is a RINO and paint him as a right wing extremist from hell.

At some point, this tactic is going to fail; people are going to become inured to the Smear as Big Lie.

Sarah Palin was on with Van Susteren on Fox.

PALIN:  That was a tough speech to have to sit through and try to stomach because the president is so off-base in his ideas on how it is that he believes government is gonna create jobs.  Obviously government growth won't create any jobs.  It's the private sector that can create the jobs.  His theme last night in the State of the Union was the WTF, you know, "Winning the future," and I thought, okay, that acronym, spot on, there are a lot of WTF moments throughout that speech, Greta. >>>

So Van Susteren said, "You mentioned the Tea Party.  So I have to ask you about last night.  The Republican response from Paul Ryan was good, from Wisconsin. And then Michele Bachmann had the Tea Party response. And there was a lot of grumbling behind-the-scenes at the Capitol last night about her giving the Tea Party response.  What's your thought, was she trying to steal the thunder from the party? Is she a spoiler? Is she going rogue? Or is she doing something important?"

PALIN:  I love it when anybody goes rogue for the right reasons, and -- no.  I appreciated that her message complemented Representative Ryan's message, and that was fine.  Both of their messages, too, those conservative, commonsense messages that they had on how to get the economy back on the right track were really good, and they were sound.  They were sound because they were in opposition to President Obama's message, which basically was, "Hey, the era of big government, it's here as long as I am, and I'm gonna find a way to make you pay for big government."  That was the president's message.

Why the **** not? It isn't as if the left hasn't done the same damn thing for 40 years! The only difference is the left wing media gives 'em all a ****in' pass! Maybe, just maybe, if we start playin' by the rules they themselves brought to the table a few more conservative Americans will see what the hell has been goin' on!
