I've never been to Neutral Underground. Could you list the mods and admins of that forum who are not so 'fair'?

They don't go by name, but Admin1 posted "Get ****ed and die" to a thread I was on. After I replied "After you. I insist." he deleted both the comment and the reply. So his bias is pretty plain. The Admins and Mods do not go by names there, so there is no clue who they really are. I am told that both of the original Admins are conservatives, and though they recently promoted a "Liberal" to be Admin3, that person plays no role in running the board and never overrules either Admin1 or Admin2, the founders. Additionally, I am told that Liberals are the only ones to have ever been banned from the board.

That's a good find benburch. Anytime you have those kinds of operators in forums, it's great to put the word out on them. I'm sure the Repukes has their word out on folks like us, but in this dog eat dog forum world now, who cares, cause the meaner dog brings home the puppy chow. Not so. They banned an couple "Right of center" people. Most notibly BSR and Namvet. Another one asked to be banned after being put on time out, and a lot of right wingers there just plain left the site since it became over run by "DUmmies".

Post over there some more before you claim to know what it's about.

I went over the membership list and found 21 left-of-center bans as opposed to 7 right-of-center bans. Not sure what the left-right membership ratio is. I might go back later and count that.

Never hurts to check a place out altho I'll be busy for awhile. I'd say it sounds like a middle of the road prick forum myself, but since I haven't been in it, can't really say... but looks like they enjoy tossin' both sides out for speaking their minds..... possibly more lefties than righties. My experience.

While I don't think the people who run the place are perfect, I have found that they try the best they can to be fair and balanced. I also find that those who are banned are often given warning after warning. The best example is Evor Lrak. They gave him chance after chance, and he was left of center.

My experience is also noticing the different types of people on the left and the right who say the place is soooo unfair. They're normally people who are far to the left or right, and they're used to their side having all or most control at other boards. Most lefties come from DU (an all liberal site). Most righties come from CU it seems (which allows libs, but Conservatives are still very very much in control). So when they get on a board that doesn't let them have their way nearly as much, they honestly think the board is unfair. To them, unfair is giving the other guy a fair shake.

And there is a reason why more lefties are banned than righties. Truth be told, more of them pulled far more shit on that particular board. I'm not saying that to be mean. It's just true. Truth is I've defended liberals on several occasions (mostly because I am one). I screamed how horribly unfair they got treated at another board for example. But at some point, a spade has to be called a spade.

Mehr, I can't answer all of your questions because I'm not part of NU management. You would have to speak to them. They're not like Skinner and company. There's a good chance they'll actually speak with you.

You know you were not banned for no good reason though. You also know I can't talk about it. It's the rules.

Certain "CU sympathizers" give back to the right as much as they give to the left. They often do it a lot more than most of the other libs because they've taken it a long time and they're used to it.

But honey, I rejected fundamentalism a long time ago. You know what fundamentalism is? It's where one thinks they have to think a certain way or else they're betraying their ideology. I'm not going down that road EVER AGAIN. Not for religion. Not for liberal ideas. Not for anything.

Yeah, well that's more than what I have. He banned me after two years of membership and refused to talk to me about it. And no, he doesn't always ban for good cause. I could go into it, but this thread isn't about DU. But you're right. At least he doesn't profess free speech. lol.

I had a reason for making that thread, which I won't go into because you're not entitled to know. To make a long story short, I wanted DUers to know that I'm not just somebody who criticizes DU (and therefore supposedly hates DUers).

I've used righty, lefty, and "neutral" sources for my beliefs because none of them alone provides enough balance.

I didn't come to my SBV stance easily. Once I did, I still concluded that it was worth it to vote for Kerry because Bush is just plain dangerous. I'd do it all over again. I'm still a Democrat. I'm still for many liberal ideas. The fact that I have a contrary view about one politician doesn't change that. I have a right to disagree. My disagreement doesn't make me any less of a lefty.

The way Big Jerry has his salon set up, keeping the date of the comments with the copying-and-pasting job is difficult; in fact, copying-and-pasting anything from there is a nightmare.

One wonders if Big Jerry built his salon that way on purpose, so as to discourage being quoted.

Copying-and-pasting from Skins's island is a peach, compared with Big Jerry's salon.

Anyway, I used to pay only sporadic and random attention to Big Jerry's salon, until recently, and I'm still digging around there, to see all what's there.  The more I find, and the more I post, I'm sure I'll get a better handle on copying-and-pasting problems involved with Big Jerry's salon.

This was one of those "practice" things, although in the future, I'll mention the date of the hair-drying session.

I have a fondness for Big Jerry, but Big Jerry may not like the attention, especially since my current goal is to "build" this forum; however, it's Big Jerry's own fault.

When I was working on "building" the automotive forum here, I went over to Big Jerry's salon to see what his customers had to say about things automotive.

Much to my surprise and appallment, Big Jerry's salon has no automotive forum.

Every decent web-site has an automotive forum.

Anyway, Big Jerry's salon doesn't, but since I was there anyway, I decided to look around, to see what was up; that's how I came upon the Big-Jerry-threatening-Rob hair-dryer.

Now, if Big Jerry had had an automotive forum in his salon, I simply would have grabbed a hair-dryer, and left, and it would've never occurred to me that the whole of Big Jerry's salon has "potential" for critique.

So all this new attention, perhaps unwelcome, is Big Jerry's own fault; he's got only himself to blame, for not having an automotive forum.
