Here's the answer to the question Chelsea won't answer because it's none of your business:
   Advertisements [?]

Q. "What affect has the Monica Lewinsky scandal had on the campaign?"

A. Bush and Cheney have not been impeached.

Bush and Cheney have not been impeached because Bill Clinton was.

The purpose of the bogus impeachment of Clinton -- aside from justifying the outrageous expense and distraction of the Ken Starr investigations -- was not to uphold the law or bring down President Clinton.

The purpose of the bogus impeachment of Clinton was to subvert the Constitutional process, to obfuscate the significance and (potential future) power of impeachment and to trivialize the integrity of the Presidency itself.

The sick farce perpetrated on the public by Republicans -- and the Democrats who went along with it -- was the biggest disinformation turning point in American history since Reagan's phony "landslide" and split screen inauguration. (The next one was probably Katrina, overshadowing the stolen elections. If you'll accept televised genocide, you'll fall for anything). Absurdist pomp and circumstance -- and the demented yellow racing stripes Justice Rehnquist slapped on his black robe just for the occasion of gutting the People's justice -- at the phony trial in the Senate chambers, lent the Wag the Dog performance a sense of legitimacy for future generations to swallow, ponder or laugh at.

Clinton was impeached for the crime of shaking his finger at the American public on TV. For the luxury of feeling outraged by oral sex in the Oval Office, the court of public opinion was manipulated into squandering their own -- and only -- Constitutional power to remove a criminal adminstration from office.

The sham impeachment paved the way for Dubya or any other "likeable," bad actor like Reagan to play the now ridiculous role of President while those behind the Bushco. curtain amassed more and more and more power. As they deconstructed government and constructed their Frankenstein's monster of Imperial "Unitary" Executive power, the neutered threat of impeachment and the deluded American people were conveniently out of the way.

Americans supposedly liked the likeable Alzheizmer's president who "could not recall" his complicity in Iran/Contra. Reagan's popularity was the excuse used for not impeaching him. People supposedly wanted to have a beer with the alcholic AWOL president who "fixed the intelligence around the facts" to wage preemptive war. Now Bush's lack of popularity doesn't matter to him or Dick "So?" Cheney. Talk about Teflon.

In 2006, Americans voted in a Democratic majority. Conscientious Americans demanded accountability in the form of impeachment and investigations. However, impeachment was "off the table" and Clinton and Obama were on the campaign trail. Neither candidate has run against the Bush administration or their crimes, nevermind staying at their jobs in Congress to do something about it.

The purpose of the bogus impeachment of Clinton was to subvert the Constitutional process, to obliterate the significance and (potential future) power of impeachment and to trivialize the integrity of the Presidency itself.

Mission accomplished.

My how their feeble little minds twist in the wind for new conspiracy's. :rotf:

4. My thoughts exactly, omega.
The Republicans did a "great" job in subverting one of the most important parts of the Constitution -- the ability to impeach a truly incompetent, dangerous President via the impeachment of Clinton.

It was another example of a pre-emptive strike against We The People perpetrated by the Republicans, in an effort to keep us quiet and subservient, via those who are supposed to represent us.

You can just bet, though, that the next time a Democrat gets into the White House, they will be back with yet more trumped up charges, and try the same damned thing again.

Uhmm no genius, the term "high crimes and misdemeanors" is exactly what it says..a violation of a written legal statute.

Something along the lines of committing and suborning perjury while under oath in an attempt to obstruct justice in the adjudicating of a civil suit. :-)

11. the only hope
is for folks -- including in Congress -- to understand the system and defend it

You mean like all the other fanatical primitives who openly yearn for the incarceration of any that disagree with the socialism theology?

19. Our leaders assumed that because we rallied behind Clinton when he was impeached...
that Bush would get a similar boost.

In other words, putting politics ahead of the law.
Thanks for admitting it.

Rove knows this, and this is why the Bush administration went further over the line.

They knew the country had a distaste for impeachment after Clinton, and they knew that there was virtually no shot of their being back to back impeachments.

Everybody would say it was just the Democrats getting back at the Republicans, they would over look the legitimacy of impeachment, and it would just be seen as partisan games.

And they were right.

But the fact is, people were upset that Clinton was impeached for nothing, not the fact that he was impeached in the first place, but it's too fine a line for the people in charge to see.

21. Because the Repubs were alredy planning to take back the presidency...
...any which way they could, by hook or by crook, or through a backroom deal with the SCOTUS. Their "far vision" told them that impeachment could prove to be a cause of "mischief" in their grand judicial coup scheme.

We see the future DUmmy and guess what?

You are not a relevant part of it. :lmao:

You know, the alpha maximo primitive must have read some ancient posts by Pedro Picasso.

This idea that the Republicans in the early 1990s conspired to impeach the Impeached One so that it wouldn't be politically possible to impeach the next president, ostensibly a Republican one, is pure Pedro Picasso.

I dunno, madam.

Despite all of the corrupt big-city machines creating all those "votes" out of thin air, for some reason in 1980 Reagan repeated the Roosevelt landslide of 1932, in which another Great Humanitarian lost re-election.

The percentages of the popular vote and the actual electoral vote were nearly exactly the same, 1932 and 1980.

And then four years later, Reagan repeated an earlier landslide, the Roosevelt landslide of 1936.

The percentages of the popular vote and the actual electoral vote were nearly exactly the same, 1936 and 1984.

AND then, four years later, the first George Bush repeated the election of 1980, and re-repeated the election of 1932, in terms of percentage of popular votes and the actual electoral vote.

Three massive landslides in a row.

Damn.

That's been done no other time in American history since universal suffrage, three landslides in a row.

And massive landslides despite that the corrupt big-city machines were creating "votes" out of thin air, desperately trying to help the other guy.

Someone seems a little cranky. The DUmmy's angst makes me happy. Of course we all know this is bullshit and, as long as the DUmmys are deep into bullshit beliefs, they will always be off-target when it comes time to make an impact on their dillusion of the political process.

Actually, DUmmies. Clinton's impeachment failed because Congress got too excited over Monica and forgot about what mattered, like China and the other scandals. I won't respond to the rest of your delusions.
