Second Amendment Poll From USATODAY
« on: January 17, 2011, 05:09:53 PM »
Just got this email from my daughter.........

Quote
Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues.  He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms.  This takes literally 2 clicks to complete.  Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today.  It will only take a few seconds of your time.  Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know.  Hopefully these results will be published later this month.  This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

Here's what you need to do:

First - vote on this one.

Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.

The Question is:

"Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?"

Click on the link below and PLEASE vote!

USATODAY.com - Quick Question

Big surprise!

97% yea

2% nay

1% undecided

USA Today is chronically anti-gun, come Hell or high water.

Well, it's probably a good idea to stay diligent about this, because if we're not, our rights start disappearing.

I'm not currently standing, I am instead sitting.  ::)

At least you know I'm in the minority on that poll.

If you had your way you would take the guns out of the hands of law abiding Americans?
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Gun control makes perfect sense...if you're a criminal, or an idiot.  If fewer citizens own guns, fewer criminals will get shot while "working."  The best way to reduce crime and mass murder is to arm most citizens.  Loughner would have have even attempted his carnage if he'd been sure someone would stop him with a dose of lead after his first or second shot.

I don't know whether or not you can legitimately say that. Arizona is pretty lenient on their carry laws. The bigger and more surprising fact is that there wasn't anybody carrying at that event.

it's been well publicized that there was at least one person, legally carrying at the event. He has also made statements on why he didn't fire on the perp. He did assist in the subduing and apprehension.

Oh, I'll bet there where considerably more carrying. I carry, but no one would know it, unless I advertised it. And Arizona's laws aren't lenient, they are just closer in line to Constitutional Law.
