If congress got rid of all funding for all social programs, which actions would be unconstitutional?

Is there an obligation of the government to provide food stamps or social security or Medicare or Medicaid that is in the constitution itself? Or is that purely legislative?

The right to freebies is right next to the right for an abortion.

7. It's kind of scary to realize how dependent we are on the current crop of legislators.

That's why I advise putting down the bong, get a haircut or perm if you are a woman, put on some decent clothes and get a job.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

WORK!...Shirley you jest...this is a "FREE" country....I know my rights.

Amen. It is scary how dependent they are on the government. If the SHTF, they'd be the first to starve to death, after what little they've managed to steal and loot runs out (if they managed that to begin with).

What's even scarier is that they don't realize that there's nothing in the Constitution that says that the government must provide any sort of assistance or freebies. Yet, they lecture to us that they know more about civics than we do ::)

I would like to take this opportunity to nominate dkf for the 2011 DU misfit of the year.   I don't know if anyone is going to be able to top this one.

Hey dkf, did you get your pony yet?

The really sick part is there's now a couple generations of government slaves who wouldn't know how to take care of themselves. What they've done to those people should make them ashamed of themselves. Except they don't have the capacity to feel anything but anger and envy. That they can justify it to themselves just shows how soulless they are.

Well, there is a sort of Constitutional dimension to contributory or contractual plans like Social Security, military retirement, and federal civil service pensions, all of which are created by statute, since there is a property interest in them once they vest, and the 5th Amendment prohibits taking property without due process of law.  As for the pure handout programs like unemployment, food stamps, and Medicaid, though, you DUmmies would be f*cked.
