The Martyrdom of Sarah Palin continues

Yes I did listen to some of Rush this morning...and in case you miss it, the martyrdom of St. Sarah continues. It is not toning it down.

Oh and the memorial...was a political rally.

The fact is that the right is now going through the martyrdom of Sarah, and in the eschatology of the New Israel Sarah is now ... The new Jesus. Sarah has become a christ like figure. Do understand this, the eschatology has entered the talk of El Rushbo, and just as blood libel is not a coincidence, neither is this.

Ah lovely eschatology.

Rubicon is soooo yesterday.

1. GMA this morning had a Sarah-sympathy piece on that was nauseating to say the least..

...full of 'hey, Sarah's been getting death-threats too!' bullshit...

2. And I personally don't doubt it

The death threats part... But for different reasons than she will or think.

Do tell. Why do you think she is getting death threats?  Could it be because of the hatred spewing from the left?

4. Unless you understand the eschatology behind this

They believe for real they are the most persecuted minority in this country. This is a signal of the end of times...when those in his church will be psectued. You can't argue with eschatology that is this nuts...but she is either Sarah or Deborah... And we are the Phillistines.

To be honest I got an ear for this crap...and it is the most dangerous thing they've done. It is the level of escalation that will be missed by the media...partly on purpose, partly they are not equipped for this crazy talk...which is not crazy...it is the end of times. They believe it.

I don't think the word means what she thinks it does, but I could be wrong. I'm not an overly religious person.

Most modern eschatology and apocalypticism, both religious and secular, involves the violent disruption or destruction of the world, whereas Christian and Jewish eschatologies view the end times as the consummation or perfection of God's creation of the world. For example, according to ancient Hebrew belief, life takes a linear (and not cyclical) path; the world began with God and is constantly headed toward God’s final goal for creation.

Do you think the day everything changed, and so it began for Needinabrewski, was the same day she realized Bobbolink was homeless?

This nitwit has no more clue what she is talking about then any other DUmmy.
Eschatolgy is in a nutshell the study of final times.

That she has concocted this fable about Sarah being some sort of Christ symbol is political daydreaming without any basis.

These people are simply deranged.

Yes, she's confusing/equating end-of-times with martyrdom.  It is hilarious that she uses the word 20 million times in one thread.  Isn't she conscious of this?  It's not the easiest word to type.  Takes work.

And no, Lurkers.  No conservative worships Sarah as a Martyr or anyone else as a  kind of Christ-like figure.  Religious conservatives would find that a grave sin and blasphemy, the breaking of the first Commandment.  Conservatives of all stripes recognize that we are (should be) a nation of laws, not men.  Therefore, we do not worship politicians.

Unlike DUmmies.

Putting aside your "new word of the day" posts...does it matter what the reason is? Is it acceptable because it's Sara Palin? If so, how does that jive with the new civility we're all supposed to embrace (at least until the next time the left needs to ratchet up the hate speech because little old ladies are holding up signs protesting taxes or health care or something)? Is it okay to advocate the murder of some people without violating the "new and improved" civility?

My personal fave, from back in the day, was "gravitas". I don't remember if she was around then, but I suspect Know-It-All nadin was really into gravitas.

I can't really follow her line of thought but I do think there is more eschatology in Global Warming(TM) nonsense than in most mainstream religions.  In fact, the whole belief is a kind of religious.  Mankind being born in the original sin.  Accepting carbon credits into your market is salvation.  And the wages of sin are burning via Global Warming(TM).  And, of course, there are all kinds of prophesies, many already expired as false.
