You can imagine how this one goes over.
BTW, the DUmmy's thread title is misleading. The statement came from Erick Erickson's blog at redstate.com, not from CNN.

Wow! What a dumb thing to say...
CNN's Erickson: In Wake Of Attempted Murder Of Jewish Politician, It's Important To Stress "A Saving Faith In Jesus Christ"
January 11, 2011 3:50 pm ET by Jamison Foser
CNN's Erick Erickson is upset with what people aren't saying about the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords:
Through it all though, well meaning people on both sides of the ideological and partisan divide are not talking about the one thing that should be talked about — a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Perhaps Mr. Erickson is hoping for a job offer from Fox News.

3. Quite ironic as Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish.
And that means what, exactly? There were nineteen other victims, in case you hadn't noticed. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, Christians pray for non-Christians all the time, and the message was directed at
all people so inclined to renew their faith and trust in God in this time of tragedy.

27. no kidding. makes me think more about all this being on purpose
for some lowscum reasons they have.
this and that blood libel, come on. something is going on in their walnut shells they call brains. purposefull distraction for even more disgust with them so they have even more excuses to do and say more harmful and insensitive things.
Harmful and insensitive? To whom? I'm sure Ms. Giffords and her family would appreciate the sentiment no matter where it came from.

4. It's not dumb..
It's amazingly insulting, the apparent target of the shooting was Jewish.
Ewik son of Ewik is a world class asshole and smart enough to know just how insulting his little statement was.
Again, there were nineteen other victims and Mr. Erickson as addressing
all people of Christian faith. Besides, Jesus was a Jew, too.

12. It is not a maybe, it is what he means. Updated at 8:04 PM
Being a child of a holocaust survivor... I got a particularly sensitive ear to things like that.
It's too bad your ear, your ass and your brain aren't all wired together.
Let's see: Child of the Holocaust, leader of a combat company, savior of drought and flood-stricken people, Oracle Of Rubicon Crossings.
TiT, is that you?

7. Aw bullshit - Jesus didn't give a damn about that 9 year old girl
So I don't think he has a lot of credibility on this issue.
"That 9 year old girl" will be at His side in Heaven. Can you say the same?

37. This person does not need to be on national tv. Giffords was Jewish and we hear proselytizing?
while Palin tries to appropriate the mantle of victimhood with dog whistles to extremists?
I never thought CNN could sink this low. but they have.
Again, not CNN dumbass. Try reading.
