Well when snow becomes the norm down here, and we are well equipped (snow plowers, snow tires, etc.) then we can talk. AND furthermore, we didn't get snow. We got freakin' ice. BIG DIFFERENCE!! So there.
We get ice as well. Matter of fact, IIRC in the 2008 ice storm we got over an INCH of it. Got to the point where I was afraid to walk from my house to the road because branches and some pretty good sized chunks were falling once it started warming up later that day and the wind REALLY kicked up.
And for the record--the NH DOT has less than 800 plows. NYC has over 2000. Look at the road mileage involved and tell me why NYC took over a week to clear their streets and NH roads (and in towns, most of the side streets) are clear within a DAY. That's right--the roads here were wet, but cleared of snow and ice less than 12 hours after the snow stopped.
ETA: Nice to see you back, BTW.
