I have looked over DU since yesterday and I noticed something has been missing.

Not one of you assholes, have condemned the piece of shit that picked up the gun and pulled the trigger. Not one.
I see thread after thread where you want to score political points by blaming Palin and the Tea Party.
You ****wads act as if this poor innocent kid was forced by the Tea Party to do this. You people sicken to me.
All you care about is finding a way to shut up the Tea Party and make sure that there is no way her seat could possibly go to a Republican.

You're right, and you won't see them condemn the sick SOB.  Know why?  Because deep down, they're not sorry he did it, because Rep. Giffords is one of the hated Blue Dogs.  The primitives themselves have voiced hatred for the Blue Dogs, worse than anything that any Sarah Palin et al have EVER done.  They don't see this is a tragedy because people died and people were injured, they see it as an opportunity to slime conservatives.

I do my best to refrain from swear words, I'm not a prude, I just personally choose not to use certain words BUT I have sounded like a drunken Sailor since yesterday, I just saw a Dem talking on the news and in front of hubby I told him to F-off, I actually used the word.

I have never been so disgusted by the gang mentality since yesterday and seeing fellow Americans use a tragedy like this to score political points is horrible.

Sometimes the usage of a swear word is justified. How one uses them, and the frequency with which one uses them, is the key. If one is not known to use those words, they often convey the utter disgust, contempt or surprise one has for the situation. Speech teachers the world over will tell you that using those words are a sign you have lost the argument. I disagree as long as one does not use them to excess. A judicious "bullshit" to convey your disgust is, in my opinion, a lot better than saying poppycock.

Good comedians use this. Bill Cosby was the best at it. He was talking about cocaine use in one of his comedy acts and expressed his utter disdain for the coke users argument that "it intensifies my personality". His response to that was "What if the person is an asshole?"

As with anything else, overexposure tends to lessen the "shock value".

You said it . I can only imagin what the talk shows will have to deal with on the air tomorrow. Not one peep out of these gentic **** ups when Rhandi Rhodes asked for Bush to be killed but they are beating the dead horse into cold wet goo over this.

Just like they never blamed a single act of murder in Iraq on a terrorist. No matter how depraved. No matter how many innocent civilians died. No matter how many of our troops were killed in a cowardly fashion. It was always "Bush's fault". Every death was attributed to him. It was like the terrorists themselves didn't even exist, or if they did, held no personal accountability.

I doubt seriously any of us could come close to the Stature of the Greatest Armored Commander to ever hold the position! Col Patton was one of a kind, and likely if he had lived, and the damn doves listened to him, would have prevented the cold war!

I like the fact the Patton family fought any attempt to portray him as anything but a Warrior of the United States of America, and gave their blessing once they saw the movie!

Any doubts that if the movie had been done in current circumstances, especially given Coppola was involved, it would be some anti war left wing piece of propaganda?
