Wonded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords One Of Twenty Recently Targeted By Sarah Palin PAC


 

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was shot in the head outside a grocery store in Tucson while holding a public event on Saturday. A number of other bystanders have been reportedly been killed or wounded. While it is way too early to know what motivated the shooting incident, one interesting fact has already surfaced.

Giffords was one of twenty Democratic legislators targeted on Thursday by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's PAC.

The PAC is targeting 20 House Democrats who voted for the nation's new health care law and who represent districts that Sen. John McCain carried in the 2008 presidential election.

The website TakeBackThe20.com launched on Thursday, which was the six-month anniversary of the passage of the health care law. The site's main graphic puts a bull's-eye on 20 House districts under a headline that reads, "We've diagnosed the problem...Help us prescribe the solution."

Included among Palin's Democratic targets was Rep. Giffords.

At the time of this post, the site has either been taken offline or is offline due to a surge in traffic.

UPDATE 1:50 PM CT: A hospital spokesperson is now saying that Giffords is currently in surgery and in "extremely serious" condition. She also reports nine other people have been brought to the hospital and they are all in either "serious" or "critical" condition. One of the wounded includes a child.

I still find it kind of humorous, and very sad that whenever ANY DUmor sees a crosshairs, they automatically piss their pants, and misconstrue the intended meaning. They'll be riding this map until the day Sara passes away. To have that much hate, and ignorance coarsing through one's veins is just ridiculous.
