The progressives got livid about the healthcare bill too, since all it did was make existing medicine more expensive and mandate everyone to purchase endurance instead of giving them their precious singlepayer system (yet). The progressives in power do not care about their own base. They see everyone as subjects.
You're absolutely right about several things here. I strongly favor repeal of that law. I wrote a number of letters, even made several phone calls, trying to get members of the House Progressive Caucus to stand their ground and vote against that law, but they were good soldiers and caved to Obama's demands. They sold out their constituents. I don't deny that.
Personally, I don't see any progressives "in power." And I have no idea how they "see" their constituents, but it doesn't really matter because the progressives in government
have no power--none that they're willing to use, in any event.
