I am hetereosexual and support equality. Moreover I find these events fun. Meanwhile, though, a question formed in my head. My question might appear naive.

I noticed that at this event a great emphasis was placed on sexuality. They had many strippers, people distributing condoms, and little stickers that people could put on their shirts reading slogans like "Wanna ****?". Many people were dressed in fetish clothes (there even was a wagon of the "fetish society") or in lingerie.

I was wondering if there is a great number of homosexuals who disagree with how being gay is presented at such events. I personally, being a liberal and a guy, was rather impressed by the openness, but I realize that many straight people would have a problem with their sexuality being presented openly. If the ratios were reversed, and heterosexuals were a minority, and there was an event focused around heterosexuality, I'm pretty sure a guy would still likely get slapped if he handed a woman a sticker that said "Wanna ****?".

Yes, I know, this might sound like the typical "gay lifestyle bla bla" but it isn't actually. It actually had me thinking that heterosexuals could learn a thing or two from such events. I'm just curious on people's opinions.

I'm soo going to the next one :)

Sounds like some fest.  :whatever: Bounce or no bounce?

Those dumbass parades reinforce every negative stereotype people have about gay people. Want people to stop perceiving you as a bunch of hedonistic, oversexed freaks? Well stop acting like a bunch of hedonistic, oversexed freaks. Those damn things are the MAIN reason gays haven't been accepted by a majority of people. I know gay people that are just like me, other than the liking of the dang dang thing, and they are appalled by these stupid displays because they know how they have a negative impact on them.

..then again, all three are conservatives.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Why do they always have to let everyone know that they support gay people but that they are in fact NOT gay.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

....oh and I totally agree. Every gay person I know IRL is nothing like the "gay pride parade" stereotype. None of them think they are a cat and dress like a freak either.

Hardly anybody's weighed in over there.  I finally got the nerve to look at those pictures of the San Fran Fulsom street freakfest.  How a city with so many rules and regulations allow what goes on there is beyond me.  I just don't understand this city and never will.  Never go there, either.

Anyone who goes into the midst of raving perverts like that, and calls their company "fun", is as queer as a three-dollar bill. His disclaimer to the contrary is just a reminder that DUmmies lie, all the time.

The lack of responses to thread may relate to Skimmer's night of the long knives, not too long ago, when he purged a swarm of aggressive gayboys. DUmmy howardnumbers, with a low post count, may not know that his kind is becoming an endangered species at the DUmp.

The DUchebags are all for that but have a veterans day parade and they would be howling about it.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Why do they always have to let everyone know that they support gay people but that they are in fact NOT gay.
Because that is part of the libtard trifecta. That way they can prove how liberal they are by letting the hive know that they associate with the supposed repressed groups. If they could find a black lesbian that was muslim then they would feel like they hit the jackpot.

It seems like they don't want acceptance, they just want to shove it in everyone's face. I still can't believe the vile things they did in front of a Catholic Church in San Francisco during 1 of these expressions of "pride", if they ever tried that in NY in front of a Catholic Church? 1 eyed Sal and left leg Louie (I think I got those names right frank LOL) would break their legs.
